  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Battling sore wrist

Bohm hasn't played for Triple-A Lehigh Valley since Sunday due to a sore wrist, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Bohm was demoted in late August in an effort to get him back on track following a very disappointing sophomore season at the big-league level. He looked good through six Triple-A games, hitting .318 with more walks (five) than strikeouts (four), but his quest to sort out his swing has now been on hold for several days. He's at least been able to work out on the field prior to games, so his absence may not last much longer, but it remains unclear when he'll play again in the minors, let alone for the Phillies.

  • Dominic Smith 1B | ATL

Mets' Dominic Smith: Moves to bereavement list

Smith was placed on the bereavement list Friday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Smith hasn't been in the starting lineup since Aug. 27 and will now step away from the team for a few days. The 26-year-old can spend between three and seven days on the bereavement list, so he should rejoin the Mets sometime next week.

  • Luke Raley RF | SEA

Dodgers' Luke Raley: Shifts to 60-day IL

Raley was placed on the 60-day injured list for an undisclosed reason Wednesday, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The organization didn't officially give a designation for Raley's move to the IL, but Castillo suggests that he is likely one of two players currently inactive for Triple-A Oklahoma City for COVID-19 reasons. Raley slashed .169/.246/.237 with one home run and 22 strikeouts across 65 plate appearances with the big club earlier this season. His transfer to the IL, along with that of Sheldon Neuse (undisclosed), allowed Los Angeles to add Jake Jewell and Ryan Meisinger to the 40-man roster.

  • Dominic Smith 1B | ATL

Mets' Dominic Smith: Takes seat Thursday

Smith isn't starting Thursday's game against the Marlins, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Smith has gone 1-for-7 with a run and an RBI in his last three appearances and will be out of the lineup for a fourth consecutive game. Jeff McNeil will shift to left field while Jonathan Villar starts at third base.

  • Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Retreats to bench

Tellez isn't in the lineup Thursday against the Giants.

Even though right-hander Logan Webb is starting for the Giants on Thursday, Tellez will get a day off after he drew nine straight starts. Daniel Vogelbach will start at first base and bat sixth.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Heads to injured list

Flores was placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring Thursday.

Flores left Wednesday's game against the Brewers with what was originally called hamstring tightness, but it turns out the injury is serious enough to cost him at least 10 days. It looks as though he'll miss at least a bit longer than that, with Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reporting that Flores is expected to miss a couple weeks. Mauricio Dubon was recalled to take his place on the roster, giving the Giants another right-handed bat.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Dealing with tight hamstring

Flores left Wednesday's game against the Brewers with left hamstring tightness, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Flores went 1-for-3 at the plate before exiting. The Giants are expected to face lefties in each of their next three games, which are matchups in which the utility infielder would typically start. The team could wind up with one more lefty in the lineup than normal for those contests if Flores isn't ready to go.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Goes yard twice in matinee

Goldschmidt went 2-for-2 with two walks, two home runs and three RBI in a 5-4 win over the Reds during the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

He opened the scoring on the afternoon with a solo shot in the first inning and then launched a game-winning two-run shot in the fourth, with both blasts coming off Wade Miley. After going 0-for-2 in the nightcap, Goldschmidt is batting .287 on the season with 24 homers, 10 steals, 74 runs and 82 RBI through 130 contests. Goldschmidt has now gone yard three times over the last two days entering Wednesday's nightcap.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Shifts to 60-day IL

Hoskins (abdomen) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Hoskins was already ruled out for the rest of the season due to surgery for an issue in his lower abdomen, so it was only a matter of time before the Phillies shifted him to the 60-day IL to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. Brad Miller and J.T. Realmuto should continue to see most of the playing time at first base for the Phillies over the final month of the campaign.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Takes seat Wednesday

Walker isn't starting Wednesday against the Padres.

Walker started each of the last three games but went just 1-for-10 with three walks and six strikeouts. Pavin Smith will shift to first base while Jake McCarthy starts in right field.
