  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

Pirates' Josh Bell: Absent from starting nine Sunday

Bell is not in the lineup Sunday against the Padres.

Jose Osuna will replace the 24-year-old at first base for the series finale. Since the All-Star break, Bell has settled in at the plate, slashing .308/.353/.487 with three home runs and 15 runs batted in.

  • Braves' Freddie Freeman: Plates four in win

Freeman went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and two runs during Saturday's win over Miami.

Freeman entered the game with a rock-solid .834 OPS since returning from the disabled list July 4, and he's now up to an elite .317/.418/.642 slash line for the campaign. Even with the missed time, Freeman's counting stats (20 homers, 45 RBI and 53 runs) have been good up to snuff, and he projects to remain a high-end asset in all fantasy settings.

  • Joey Votto 1B | TOR

Reds' Joey Votto: Launches 28th home run

Votto went 1-for-2 with a solo homer and two walks in Saturday's loss to the Cardinals.

Now up to 28 homers on the season, Votto sits just one shy of last year's total with 52 games still to play. He has hit safely in 10 straight and is batting close to .500 during that span. It's looking like he's in store for another huge second half.

  • Mets' Wilmer Flores: Blasts 12th bomb Saturday

Flores went 1-for-3 with a solo homer Saturday against the Dodgers.

Flores launched his 12th home run of the campaign off Rich Hill to extend a first-inning lead that would eventually evaporate in a losing effort. He's currently posting career-best numbers in batting average and slugging percentage as he builds upon the mild breakout he had in 2016.

  • Diamondbacks' Paul Goldschmidt: Stays hot with three-hit performance

Goldschmidt went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBI in Friday's 2-1 win over the Giants.

Goldschmidt had nowhere to go but down following his three-homer, six-RBI performance in Thursday's rain-soaked win over the Cubs, but he still did his best in Friday's series opener to return value for those who invested in him in DFS contests. The MVP candidate had initially struggled to find his form at the plate in the first few games out of the All-Star break, but it's safe to say he's remembered how to mash again. He's gone 17-for-34 at the plate and has compiled an absurd 1.561 OPS over his last 10 games.

  • Mets' Wilmer Flores: Out again Friday

Flores is not in Friday's lineup for the series opener against the Dodgers.

Flores takes a seat on the bench for the third straight game as Jay Bruce gets another start at first. Manager Terry Collins may choose to roll out a lineup with Bruce at first and Curtis Granderson in right for now, making it difficult for Flores to see time in the field.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Promotion on horizon?

Hoskins could be promoted to the majors as early as next week, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Hoskins has little left to prove at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, where he is hitting .280/.380/.566 with 26 home runs in 378 at-bats. When he finally gets the call to the majors, it is likely he will end up splitting time at first base with Tommy Joseph, which puts a bit of a damper on his potential value this season.

  • Diamondbacks' Paul Goldschmidt: Slugs three homers in Thursday's victory

Goldschmidt went 3-for-4 with three home runs, six RBI and four runs scored during Thursday's win over the Cubs.

This was Goldschmidt's fist multi-homer game since May 14, and the monster showing has him up to a .320/.440/.591 slash line with 25 bombs, 85 RBI, 15 stolen bases and 86 runs for the year. He continues to provide elite numbers and is building a legitimate case to finish as the top fantasy hitter in 2017.

  • Mets' Wilmer Flores: Not in Thursday's lineup

Flores is out of the lineup Thursday against Colorado.

Flores will stay on the bench for a second straight game after starting the previous six. This is most likely due to the production of Jay Bruce and Curtis Granderson, both of whom hit home runs during Wednesday's victory. Flores will likely return to the lineup for Friday's series opener against the Dodgers.

  • Luke Voit 1B | NYM

Cardinals' Luke Voit: Productive out of latter half of order

Voit went 2-for-4 with an RBI groundout and a run in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Brewers.

The rookie made some noise out of the seven hole, posting his first multi-hit effort since July 8. Voit hit a rough patch at the plate starting in mid-July, and Wednesday's effort helped snap the 2-for-21 slump that had encompassed the previous 11 games in which he'd registered at least one at-bat. The rookie continues to see occasional playing time, but it remains to be seen if he'll stick with the big-league club for the balance of the campaign.
