  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: On bench Tuesday

Dalbec is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Oakland, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Dalbec hits the bench after starting 14 of the team's last 16 games at first base. It's possible he could start losing at-bats to Michael Chavis, who starts Tuesday, as he's hitting just .188/.241/.317 on the year.

  • Dominic Smith DH | ATL

Mets' Dominic Smith: Sitting against lefty

Smith is out of Tuesday's lineup against the Orioles, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

The left-handed hitter has only started one game this season against lefty pitchers and that trend continues Tuesday as the Mets face John Means. Smith, hitting .182 in his last seven games, figures to return to the lineup Wednesday against righty Matt Harvey.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

    Phillies' Alec Bohm: Sitting Tuesday

Bohm is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Nationals, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

He's hitting .243 with two home runs, nine strikeouts and zero walks in nine games this month. Brad Miller will start at third base and hit fifth.

  • Kevin Padlo 1B | LAD

Rays' Kevin Padlo: Gets another look in majors

The Rays recalled Padlo from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.

Tampa Bay will swap out a left-handed bench bat in Yoshi Tsutsugo -- who was designated for assignment -- in favor of a right-handed one in Padlo. The 24-year-old could end up picking up regular at-bats against left-handed pitching, but the starts he gets likely won't come frequently enough for him to have any lasting fantasy value.

  • Luke Raley RF | SEA

Dodgers' Luke Raley: Recalled from Triple-A

Raley was recalled Wednesday from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The rookie outfielder replaces Keibert Ruiz, who was sent down Monday, on the active roster. Raley, who has hit just .206 in 34 at-bats this season, figures to fill a part-time role in the Dodgers' injury-troubled outfield.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Giants' Donovan Solano: Rehab stint on horizon

Giants manager Gabe Kapler said Tuesday he's hopeful Solano (calf) will be ready to begin a minor-league rehab assignment this weekend, Mark W. Sanchez of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.

Solano has been sidelined for a little over two weeks with the strained left calf, so he shouldn't need more than a handful of rehab games to prove he's healthy and regain his timing at the plate. Once he returns from the 10-day injured list, Solano will likely push Wilmer Flores for regular duties at second base.

  • Luke Voit 1B | NYM

Yankees' Luke Voit: Activated as expected

Voit (knee) was activated off the injured list as expected Tuesday.

Voit has been out all season after undergoing surgery to repair a partially torn meniscus in his left knee in late March. He's looked quite healthy in five rehab games for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, going 7-for-18 with three homers. Voit should reclaim his everyday role at first base and will be looking to build on an excellent 2020 season which saw him lead the league with 22 homers.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Steals base in win

Flores went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's 3-1 win over Texas.

Flores got aboard with a single in the eighth inning and promptly stole second base. That was his first steal attempt of the season. He's apparently feeling better after experiencing some minor lower-back tightness Friday versus San Diego. The 29-year-old Flores has a .207/.293/.322 slash line with two home runs, 12 RBI and 10 runs scored in 99 plate appearances. His spot in the lineup should be fairly safe as the Giants cope with injuries to Tommy La Stella (hamstring) and Donovan Solano (calf).

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Cracks third homer

Mountcastle went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-1 win over the Red Sox.

Mountcastle got his club on the board in the second inning, hammering a solo homer over the fence in left, his third of the season. He's been seeing the ball well at the dish of late, notching a multi-hit game for the third time in his last four contests. Mountcastle is slashing .232/.258/.360 with 10 extra-base hits and 12 RBI through 34 matchups.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Rockies' C.J. Cron: Out with back strain

Cron was placed on the 10-day injured list with a lower-back strain Monday.

It's a poorly-timed injury for Cron, as he was just starting to heat up at the plate, posting a 1.188 OPS over his last 15 games after struggling to a .558 OPS over his first 14. The move was backdated to Friday, so he'll be eligible to return as soon as next Monday, though it's not yet clear whether or not he's expected to do so. Matt Adams and Connor Joe have started the last four games at first base and will likely continue to split time there until Cron returns.
