  • Braves' Freddie Freeman: Stays hot with homer

Freeman went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 14-1 loss to Baltimore.

Atlanta was already down 13-0 when Freeman launched a solo shot in the sixth inning, but at least it prevented the shutout. The 31-year-old slugger is on an absolute heater right now, collecting multiple hits in six of his last seven games. He's up to 11 long balls and 44 RBI alongside a stellar 1.105 OPS for the season.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Moved to IL

Hoskins was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday due to an ulnar collatoral ligament injury in his left arm, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Hoskins had been considered day-to-day after his X-ray came back negative, but the team has elected to place him on the injured list after uncovering the UCL injury. With Jay Bruce (quadriceps) also on the injured list, Phil Gosselin is expected to see more time at first base.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Not in Monday's lineup

Hoskins (hip) will not start Monday's game against the Marlins.

Hoskins missed both halves of Sunday's doubleheader with a wrist injury and was sent for an MRI. The results of the test have not yet been made public, but he's evidently not been cleared to return to action. Phil Gosselin will be the first baseman in his absence.

  • Joey Votto 1B | TOR

Reds' Joey Votto: Drops in batting order

Votto will start at first base and bat third in the first game of Monday's doubleheader with the Pirates.

After serving as the Reds' leadoff man in 21 straight starts, Votto will now bat out of the three hole for the fourth straight contest. Shogo Akiyama will again get another look atop the order, but the drop to third in the order shouldn't hurt Votto too much from a run-scoring standpoint. As the leadoff man, Votto only crossed the plate 11 times in those 21 games.

  • Braves' Freddie Freeman: On base four times in win

Freeman went 2-for-3 with two walks, a double, two runs scored and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Nationals.

The steal was his first of the year. Freeman is putting together an MVP-caliber campaign, slashing .339/.459/.625 -- numbers which would all be career highs -- with 10 homers, 40 runs and 43 RBI through 47 games.

  • Nationals' Asdrubal Cabrera: Swats sixth homer

Cabrera went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Sunday's loss to Atlanta.

The homer was his sixth of the season, but his first since Aug. 17. Cabrera has cooled down significantly has a strong start, slashing .194/.274/.292 over his last 20 games.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Pops third homer

Bohm went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in an 8-1 loss to the Marlins in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader.

Bohm went deep in the second inning off Marlins starter Braxton Garrett, but that was the only run the Phillies could muster. Bohm also went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored in the first game of the twin bill. The 24-year-old is slashing .330/.381/.500 with three homers, 19 RBI and 15 runs scored through 30 games in his rookie year.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Indians' Carlos Santana: Collects three hits in loss

Santana went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Sunday's 7-5 loss to Minnesota.

With three singles Sunday, Santana registered his first multi-hit game since Sep. 6 and has just two this month. The 34-year-old slugger owns an unsightly .692 OPS with 23 RBI on the season.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Slated to undergo MRI

Hoskins' recent X-ray came back negative, and he will undergo an MRI on his forearm, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic reports.

Hoskins was initially believed to have a wrist injury, but he's apparently dealing with forearm soreness. He sustained the injury Saturday while trying to make a catch, and he sat out both games of Sunday's doubleheader as he recovers. While it's encouraging that his X-ray was negative, Hoskins' MRI should help determine how soon he could return to action.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Giants' Donovan Solano: Not starting Game 2

Solano isn't starting Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Padres, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Solano went 0-for-3 during Sunday's matinee, and he'll take a seat for the second game. Wilmer Flores will take over at second base.
