Freeman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-2 win over the Cardinals.

That's now six homers in the last nine games for the first baseman, giving him 13 on the season. The hot streak has pushed Freeman's slash line up to .320/.409/.585, and the only disappointing thing in his performance so far is the fact that he hasn't yet stolen a base after swiping a career-high 10 in 2018.

Hoskins went 2-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and a second run scored in Friday's 6-4 win over the Brewers.

His seventh-inning shot off Freddy Peralta capped the Phillies' rally from an early 4-2 deficit. The homer was Hoskins' first since May 7 and his 12th of the year, and the 26-year-old is slashing .260/.390/.519 through 50 games with 39 RBI and 29 runs.

Calhoun isn't in the starting lineup Friday against the Rangers.

Calhoun will get the night off with a southpaw (Drew Smyly) set to take the mound for Texas. Brian Goodwin draws the start in right field and David Fletcher draws the start in left with Calhoun out of the mix.

Rizzo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Reds.

Rizzo has now gone deep in three straight games to get to 14 home runs for the season. His slow start to the year seems to be behind him, and the slugging first baseman should continue to post elite counting stats from the middle of a strong Chicago lineup.

France is out of the lineup for Friday's game at Toronto.

France takes a seat Friday mired in a slump as he is 4-for-30 over his last nine games. Greg Garcia will start at third base in his absence while Ian Kinsler enters the lineup at second base.

Naylor's contract was officially selected from Triple-A El Paso prior to Friday's game in Toronto.

The Padres have back-to-back three-game series in American League ballparks coming up, first against the Blue Jays then against the Yankees, so it's quite possible Naylor gets deployed as the designated hitter and is sent down next weekend as a corresponding move for Fernando Tatis (hamstring) coming off the injured list. That said, Naylor is clearly ready for big-league pitching, and even if this is a brief cup of coffee, he could be back up for good later this season. The No. 12 overall pick in 2015, Naylor combines impressive raw power with a plus hit tool. The 21-year-old first baseman-turned-outfielder is hitting .299/.378/.538 with 10 home runs in 45 games in the Pacific Coast League. His 24:24 K:BB in 209 plate appearances is particularly impressive, given his age and the fact that this was first tour of Triple-A.

Cooper went 1-for-5 with a grand slam in Thursday's win over the Tigers.

Just one night after he connected on his first big-league homer, Cooper topped himself with a game-winning blast off Detroit closer Shane Greene in the top of the ninth inning. Despite the power surge, Cooper is still only slashing .171/.277/.317 through 13 games on the season, but he figures to remain a fixture in the Miami lineup for the time being.

Cron went 5-for-6 with a solo home run, two doubles and three runs scored in Thursday's 16-7 demolition of the Angels.

After failing to collect a hit in the first two games of the series against his former team, Cron went off Thursday with his third game of four or more hits in May. He is slashing .325/.391/.675 for the month with eight homers and 16 RBI and is set up to shine as a key cog in the middle of Minnesota's potent offense.

Bell went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, walk, three runs and two RBI in Thursday's 14-6 win over the Rockies.

Bell already provided the highlight of the series a night earlier when he splashed down in the Allegheny River for his 15th home run of the season, but he turned in quite the encore performance Thursday. After reaching base four times and adding two more extra-base knocks to his ledger, Bell raised his OPS to 1.126, trailing only the Dodgers' Cody Bellinger (1.243) and the Brewers' Christian Yelich (1.172).

Naylor will be called up by the Padres to debut Friday, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

The 21-year-old has big raw power and a good hit tool as well. He's hit .299/.378/.538 with 10 homers in 45 games for Triple-A El Paso this season. He hasn't received good reports for his defense in the outfield corners, which affects his fantasy value directly as it could limit his starting opportunities even if he hits well. He's a best fit for first base, but there's been no indication Eric Hosmer's starting role is at risk. The Padres will have back-to-back road series at the Blue Jays and Yankees, so he could see work in at least a handful of games in this seven-game interleague stretch as designated hitter; how long he stays with the big club after that is unknown.
