Votto (lower leg) is still not back in the lineup Tuesday against the Brewers.

Votto was initially reported to be eyeing a return after the minimum 10 days Sunday. When that fell through, it sounded as though he'd likely be back Tuesday, but Votto apparently remains unready. It's unclear how many more days the Reds expect him to miss.

Alonso will not be called up when rosters expand in September, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Alonso has done all he can this season to earn a call up, hitting .277/.393/.560 with 33 homers in 125 games for Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Las Vegas, but he won't get to make his big-league debut until next season. The Mets' stated reason is that Wilmer Flores, Jay Bruce and Dominic Smith will be playing first base.

Calhoun went 3-for-4 with a double, stolen base and a run Monday in the Angels' 10-7 triumph over the Rockies.

Perhaps no everyday player has provided as extreme first- and second-half splits this season as Calhoun, who had likely hit the waiver wire in most fantasy formats after rolling into the All-Star break with a .187 average and only 15 extra-base hits through 75 contests. Calhoun's handy glovework in the outfield -- along with a lack of appealing alternatives -- prompted the Angels to give him a long leash in his full-time role, and he has rewarded the team's patience with a huge post-break performance. Through 34 second-half games, Calhoun has slashed .306/.382/.567 with eight home runs, 28 runs and 25 RBI, allowing him to seize control of the leadoff role.

White is hitting .457 (16-for-35) with two home runs and 14 RBI over his last 10 games at High-A Modesto.

The 22-year-old first baseman also has nine walks, a pair of stolen bases and 10 runs over that span, providing a glimpse of his impressive all-around offensive repertoire. White is slashing .298/.366/.452 with 43 extra-base hits (25 doubles, seven triples, 11 homers) and 62 RBI over 506 plate appearances with the Nuts in 2018.

Hoskins went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo homer in Monday's loss to the Nationals.

The game was Hoskins' second straight multi-hit effort and his second straight game with a homer. The homers have come in bunches for the young slugger this season, and he's in the middle of a bunch right now. In his last 14 games, he's hit .288 with five homers and a .963 OPS.

Rizzo went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Monday's 7-4 win over the Mets.

Rizzo was named NL Player of the Week on Monday, and the 29-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down. Over his last seven games, Rizzo is 12-for-26 with four home runs and eight RBI, an he's now up to 22 home runs and 86 RBI for the season.

Gurriel is not in the lineup Monday against the A's, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic Houston reports.

Gurriel is in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak, slashing .323/.364/.516 with a homer, a stolen base and six RBI over that stretch. He'll give way to Tyler White for Monday's series opener after starting 11 straight games.

Marlins manager Don Mattingly acknowledged Sunday that Cooper could require season-ending surgery on his right wrist, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

The wrist has been an issue for Cooper since he was hit by a pitch in the Marlins' second game of the season March 30. He was sidelined for a little over two months before rejoining the Marlins in July, only to aggravate the injury and return to the DL just over two weeks later. With the first baseman/outfielder suffering another setback last week in his fifth rehab appearance at High-A Jupiter, it appears the Marlins could be inclined to have Cooper address the issue once and for all by having him undergo surgery. He's scheduled to visit a hand specialist in the coming days before a decision on a procedure is made.

Hoskins went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, a pair of walks, and two runs scored in Sunday's victory against the Blue Jays.

Hoskins was trouble for the Jays from the start of the game, opening the scoring with a homer off Marco Estrada in the first inning. The blast was his 26th of the season, putting him on pace to finish with a solid 32.

Voit went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run and two runs in the Yankees' 5-3 victory over the Orioles on Sunday.

Voit has been on a power binge since he was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, as this was his third long ball in his last four games. He only has 40 at-bats at the big-league level so far this season, but he's made the most of them, as he's currently sporting a .325/.400/.625 slash line.
