The Royals announced Wednesday that Pasquantino (shoulder) will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2023 season.

The 25-year-old was placed on the 10-day injured list last weekend with right shoulder discomfort before follow-up tests revealed a more serious injury. Pasquantino will inevitably be moved to 60-day IL in the near future, which will open a spot on the 40-man roster. He finishes his 2023 season having produced a .247 batting average with nine home runs, 26 RBI and 24 runs scored over 259 plate appearances in 61 games.

Lowe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Lowe will get a day off for the first time all season, after having started at first base in each of Texas' first 66 games. Ezequiel Duran will fill for Lowe and bat third Wednesday.

Solano will start at third base and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Solano will pick up his 10th start in 11 games Wednesday while he continues to wield a hot bat in June. Through his first 11 games of the month, Solano is slashing .324/.419/.514 with a home run, four doubles, six runs and five RBI. The recent return of Joey Gallo from the injured list has made the Minnesota lineup slightly more crowded, but Solano's ability to handle three infield spots as well as designated hitter will continue to give him multiple pathways to playing time. Expect manager Rocco Baldelli to find a way to get Solano's bat in the lineup until the veteran starts to cool down.

O'Hearn went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's win over the Blue Jays.

O'Hearn, batting cleanup and playing first base with Ryan Mountcastle (illness) unavailable, extended Baltimore's lead to 4-1 with a two-run shot off Chris Bassitt in the third inning. The 29-year-old O'Hearn has homered in back-to-back games while going 6-for-10 in his last three contests. He's now slashing an impressive .319/.368/.623 with five homers, 11 runs scored and 19 RBI through his first 76 plate appearances with the Orioles.

Cooper went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's loss to the Mariners.

Cooper crushed a 390-foot blast to right off Chris Flexen in the eighth for his second home run over his last three games. Since returning from injury May 14, Cooper has struggled at the plate, slashing .193/.230/.422 with five homers, 13 RBI, 10 runs and a 35.6 strikeout rate. Cooper has shown the ability to make above-average contact in recent seasons but is striking out at a career-worst mark thus far in 2023.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Tuesday that Casas will lose starts at first base to Justin Turner, Sean McAdam of MassLive.com reports.

Casas made a couple of fielding miscues during Monday's loss, prompting the manager to say "he needs to be better." The 38-year-old Turner started at first Monday and demonstrated a lack of familiarity with the position during the ninth inning when he failed to catch a low throw-- he's played there 41 times during a 15-year career. Casas, who showed good fielding skills during a September 2022 callup, has gone backwards in 2023. He ranks 33rd with minus-4 outs above average and last among qualified first baseman with minus-6 defensive runs saved.

Walker went 4-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in Tuesday's 15-3 loss to Philadelphia.

Not much went right for the Diamondbacks, but Walker's night stood out. It was his first four-hit night of the season and third multi-hit game in the last six. Walker has the batting average up to .261 following a slow start, but the first baseman's power has dried up over the last month. He's belted just one home run and slugged .388 over the last 22 games.

Lowe went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's loss to the Angels.

Lowe went deep for the eighth time this season, launching a 397-foot blast in the third inning. The two-run shot was a welcomed sight for the 27-year-old slugger, as he is well behind his pace from last year. Lowe has struggled with strikeouts of late, having recorded 14 over his last 28 at-bats with at least one in each of his last 15 games.

Bell went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Padres.

Bell has homered in consecutive contests, and three of his six long balls on the season have come since May 31. The missing power has been a bit of an oddity for Bell -- he's slugged lower than .400 just once in his first seven major-league seasons, but he's at just .392 this year. The first baseman is also batting just .241 with 31 RBI, 14 runs scored and 14 doubles over 60 games.

Raley is not in the starting lineup Tuesday versus the Athletics.

Raley will take a seat as the Rays face off with southpaw Hogan Harris as the A's primary pitcher Tuesday. Harold Ramirez will take over at designated hitter and bat third against Oakland.
