  • Triston Casas 1B | BOS

Red Sox's Triston Casas: Out against lefty

Casas is not in Sunday's lineup against the Royals.

He'll head to the bench with lefty Kris Bubic on the mound for Kansas City. Casas has huge raw power, but he has struggled against same-handed pitching. He had a .584 OPS in 96 plate appearances against lefties at Triple-A compared to a .943 OPS against righties.

  • Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Knocks in three in win

Pasquantino went 3-for-5 with three RBI in Saturday's 9-0 victory over the Red Sox.

Pasquantino knocked in Bobby Witt on a fifth-inning double, then singled home MJ Melendez in both the sixth and eighth innings. The Italian Nightmare has extended his hit streak to three games, boosting his batting average from .253 to .261 in the process. He has a .346 OBP and a .422 SLG to round out his slash line.

  • Luke Voit 1B | NYM

Nationals' Luke Voit: Launches solo shot

Voit went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Marlins.

Voit hit a third-inning solo homer to put the Nationals up 3-1. It was his 21st homer of the season, his third this month and his eighth since being acquired by the Nats. The first baseman extended his hit streak to six games with the solo shot. During that span, Voit has two homers, four RBI and three runs scored while raising his season batting average from .229 to .235.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Could return Sunday

Hoskins (hand), who isn't starting Saturday against Atlanta, could return to the lineup for Sunday's series finale, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Hoskins is out of the lineup for a third consecutive game Saturday but is feeling better and will participate in some pregame warmups to see how he feels. It's possible that he'll be available off the bench Saturday, and he'll have a chance to start Sunday if his swelling stays down.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Won't start Saturday

Wade (side) will sit Saturday against the Dodgers, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Wade was scratched Friday with tightness in his left side. It's possible that's the reason for his absence Saturday, but he was likely always going to sit against southpaw Julio Urias, so it isn't entirely clear if the injury is still bothering him. J.D. Davis will start at first base Saturday while Heliot Ramos starts in right field, the two spots Wade has most frequently occupied.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Exits with left elbow contusion

Mountcastle was removed from Saturday's game against the Blue Jays due to a left elbow contusion, Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com reports.

Mountcastle was hit by a pitch in the top of the second inning and remained in the game to run the bases, but he was replaced defensively in the bottom half of the frame. He underwent X-rays that came back negative, so he should be considered day-to-day for now.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

    Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Still sidelined

Hoskins (hand) remains on the bench Saturday against Atlanta.

Hoskins hasn't played since he left Wednesday's game against the Marlins after a pitch hit his hand. While his X-rays were negative, his bruised hand will now keep him on the bench for the third straight game. The Phillies have a scheduled off day Monday, so it's possible he sits again Sunday in order to get five full days to heal. Alec Bohm will again slide to first base Saturday, with Nick Maton starting at third.

  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Riding pine Saturday

Gurriel isn't starting Saturday against the Athletics.

Gurriel will get a breather after he hit .333 with a home run, two doubles, three runs and three RBI over the last seven games. Trey Mancini is starting at first base and batting sixth.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: On bench Saturday

Diaz isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Rangers, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Diaz started the last three games and went 3-for-13 with a three-run home run, a walk and four strikeouts. He'll get a breather while Jonathan Aranda starts at third base and leads off.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

    Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Sits Saturday

Cooper isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Nationals.

Cooper has seen a decrease in playing time recently and will head to the bench for the third time in the last four games. Nick Fortes is serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup.
