Nolan Schanuel 1B | LAA
Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Exits early Saturday
Schanuel was removed from Saturday's contest against the Athletics as a result of left calf tightness.
Schanuel exited the game ahead of the bottom of the third inning, going 0-for-2 with a strikeout. The 22-year-old grounded out in his final at-bat in the top of the third, which is likely when he experienced the calf issue. More information on his status will likely be provided in the near future.

Ryan Mountcastle 1B | BAL
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Sitting Saturday
Mountcastle is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Rangers.
Mountcastle will take a seat after he went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Friday's series opener. Ryan O'Hearn will draw the start at first base and bat fourth against Texas.

Vladimir Guerrero 1B | TOR
Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Goes yard again
Guerrero went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's loss to the Tigers.
He took Jack Flaherty deep in the sixth inning to get the Blue Jays on the board, a 445-foot blast that left Guerrero's bat at 117.5 mph. The first baseman continues to display his impressive power -- since the beginning of June, Guerrero has launched 10 homers in 41 games while slashing .289/.320/.541 with 32 RBI.

Juan Yepez 1B | WAS
Nationals' Juan Yepez: Two more hits, first homer
Yepez went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and a second run scored in Friday's 8-5 win over Cincinnati.
Yepez took Frankie Montas deep in the third inning, driving a two-strike pitch over the left-field fence to extend Washington's lead to 7-1. It's the first homer of the year for Yepez, though he's swung the bat well since he was called up July 5 -- the outfielder has at least one hit in all 11 games he's appeared in. Overall, Yepez is slashing an eye-popping .390/.468/.610 with six RBI and eight runs scored across 47 plate appearances as he continues to make a case for an everyday role.

Mark Canha 1B | SF
Tigers' Mark Canha: Goes deep in return
Canha (wrist) went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Friday's 5-4 win over the Blue Jays.
Canha missed the last game before the All-Star break with a sore wrist but was able to return following the long layoff. The veteran outfielder hasn't really gotten going yet for the Tigers, as he's batting just .229 with a .688 OPS in his first season with the team. Last year, Canha batted .262 with a .755 OPS for the Brewers and Mets. He had an OPS of .700 or better in each of the previous six seasons, so he'll need a strong finish in 2024 to keep that streak alive.

Yandy Diaz 1B | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Placed on restricted list
The Rays placed Diaz (personal) on the restricted list Saturday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.
Diaz was away from the Rays during Friday's game against the Yankees tending to a personal matter, and it remains unclear when he might return as he moves to the restricted list. In the meantime, Isaac Paredes will take over as the Rays' first baseman, and Curtis Mead will come up from Triple-A Durham to provide Tampa Bay with some additional infield depth.

Triston Casas 1B | BOS
Red Sox's Triston Casas: Rehab assignment not imminent
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Friday that "it will be a while" before Casas (ribs) is able to begin a rehab assignment, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.
Reports on Casas' status heading into the All-Star break had been encouraging, but the first baseman still feels some pain in his side. He continues to hit off a tee and take soft toss. When asked whether Casas would be back before September, Cora said the team and players are focused on what they need to do in the present, and "to start thinking 12 days from now or 15 days from now, that's not the way we're doing it." Cora's comments put a damper on the talk of Casas returning from the 60-day injured list anytime soon.

Nate Lowe 1B | TEX
Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Homers in loss
Lowe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 9-1 loss to Baltimore.
Lowe's second-inning blast was all the Rangers could muster. It was his seventh home run of the season and first extra-base hit in 12 contests. Lowe stumbled to finish the first half, going 1-for-17 over the five games leading into the All-Star break, so the home run is a positive sign. He's generally been a more productive hitter during the second half of seasons, posting an .839 OPS following the All-Star break compared to .755 prior to it for his career.
