  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Swipes bag Saturday

Freeman went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in Saturday's loss to the Mets.

The Dodgers got four hits between Mookie Betts and Freeman at the top of the order, but they were unable to keep pace with New York's offense in the loss. This was Freeman's first multi-hit performance since May 26, a span of eight games. He's slashing a healthy .291/.378/.451 with four homers, 19 doubles, 34 runs, 30 RBI and five steals on the season.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Rockies' C.J. Cron: Day off Sunday

Cron is not in Sunday's lineup against Atlanta.

Cron is hitting .200 with two home runs and 15 strikeouts over his last 10 games. Connor Joe will start at first base while Charlie Blackmon starts at designated hitter.

  • Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Hitting second Sunday

Torkelson is batting second Sunday against the Yankees.

He hasn't hit higher than fifth in the lineup over the past month, so this would be a nice development if it sticks. Torkelson is hitting .226/.314/.290 over his last 10 games, so he hasn't necessarily earned a bump up the lineup. Unless his production picks up, he will likely be back hitting in the middle or bottom third of the lineup once Austin Meadows (illness) and Robbie Grossman (neck) return from injuries.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Leads offense in win

Cronenworth went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBI in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Brewers.

San Diego finished with three extra-base hits in the contest, and Cronenworth was responsible for two of them. He knocked in a run with a double in the third inning and netted the final runs of the game with a two-run homer to right field in the fifth. This was a much-needed big performance by Cronenworth, who entered the contest having gone 4-for-20 with no RBI over his previous five games.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Slugs two long balls

Alonso went 3-for-5 with two home runs, two runs and five RBI in a 9-4 win against the Mets on Saturday.

Alonso gave New York the lead for good with his two-run shot in the third inning, added a three-run bomb in the seventh and singled in the ninth for his second straight game with a home run. Four of the 27-year-old's last six hits have left the yard and he pulled into a tie with Mookie Betts for the NL lead at 16 while tying Jose Ramirez for the MLB lead with 53 RBI. Alonso is on pace for a career high in average and OBP with a .285/.363/.556 slash line through 55 contests.

  • Alfonso Rivas 1B | STL

Cubs' Alfonso Rivas: Remains on bench for nightcap

Rivas isn't in the lineup for the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

Rivas entered Saturday's matinee as a defensive replacement in the top of the ninth inning, but he'll remain out of the lineup once again to close out the doubleheader. Frank Schwindel is starting at first base while Willson Contreras serves as the designated hitter.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Rangers' Kole Calhoun: Gets breather Saturday

Calhoun isn't starting Saturday's game against the Mariners.

Calhoun was hot at the plate last week, but he'll get a breather Saturday after he went 1-for-14 with a double, an RBI, three walks and three strikeouts over the last four games. Charlie Culberson, Eli White and Adolis Garcia are starting in the outfield from left to right.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Hitting streak reaches 25 games

Goldschmidt went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, a pair of walks and two runs scored in Friday's 14-5 win over the Cubs.

While Goldschmidt has been limited to one-hit efforts in his last six contests, he's been able to extend his hitting streak to 25 games. He's batting .424 with 10 long balls in that impressive span. For the season, the first baseman owns a .349/.427/.630 slash line with 12 homers, 47 RBI, 36 runs scored and three stolen bases in 50 contests.

  • Kody Clemens 1B | MIN

Tigers' Kody Clemens: Starting in left Saturday

Clemens is starting in left field and batting seventh in Saturday's game against the Yankees.

Clemens made his MLB debut at second base, but this will now be his third start in left field. The 26-year-old's versatility is important, especially with the Tigers currently missing outfielders Robbie Grossman (neck), Austin Meadows (illness) and Victor Reyes (quadriceps). Clemens will likely see his role shrink once some of those other players start to return.

  • Alfonso Rivas 1B | STL

Cubs' Alfonso Rivas: Not in lineup for Game 1

Rivas isn't starting the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

Although right-hander Johan Oviedo is starting for the Cardinals in Saturday's matinee, Rivas will take a seat for the second time in the last three games. Frank Schwindel will shift to first base while Clint Frazier serves as the designated hitter.
