P.J. Higgins 1B | CIN
Cubs' P.J. Higgins: Called up, starting Sunday
The Cubs selected Higgins' contract from Triple-A Iowa on Sunday. He'll start at catcher and bat ninth in the Cubs' series finale with the Diamondbacks.
Top backstop Willson Contreras is considered day-to-day with a hamstring injury, so Higgins was brought aboard from Triple-A to provide another option behind the plate. In addition to playing catcher, Higgins received reps at both corner-infield spots at Iowa and slashed .417/.500/.569 in 86 plate appearances with the affiliate this season.

Nationals' Josh Bell: Carries slump into series finale
Bell will start at first base and bat fifth Sunday against the Brewers.
He'll look to get back on track in the series finale in Milwaukee after going 0-for-14 with a walk and an RBI in the Nationals' last four games. Due to the ongoing slump, Bell's season-long batting average has dropped from .333 to .301.

Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL
White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: On bench for Game 1
Vaughn is not in the lineup for Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Yankees.
The 24-year-old has a .437 OPS and 32.1 percent strikeout rate in seven games since returning from the injured list May 13, and he'll take a seat for Sunday's matinee. AJ Pollock will shift to left field while Adam Engel starts in right. Vaughn is likely to be back in the lineup for the nightcap.

Alec Bohm 3B | PHI
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Swats third homer
Bohm went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Dodgers.
The home run was the third of the season and first since April 28 for Bohm, who continues to deliver most of his fantasy value via his .289 batting average over 128 at-bats. Per Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Bohm will start at third base and bat second in Sunday's series finale.

Yandy Diaz 1B | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Out of Sunday's lineup
Diaz (shoulder) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
Diaz exited Saturday's contest with a strained left shoulder and will be held out of the lineup for the series finale. It's unclear whether he will require a stint on the injured list, but the team will have Monday's scheduled off day to evaluate him before the 30-year-old misses additional time. Ji-Man Choi will take over at first base while Harold Ramirez bats cleanup as the designated hitter Sunday.

He's in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak -- the entirety of which has been at Coors Field -- during which he's maintained a .455 batting average with a pair of long balls, eight RBI and 11 runs scored. For the season, Cron has an impressive .331/.378/.629 line across 164 plate appearances.

Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW
Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Enters for Verdugo
Dalbec went 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI in Saturday's 6-5 win over Seattle.
Per usual these days, Dalbec was not in the starting lineup against a righty, but he entered after Alex Verdugo was removed with flu-like symptoms. Franchy Cordero shifted from first base to left field, while Dalbec took Cordero's spot. The Red Sox will learn more about Verdugo's status and were uncertain about his availability Sunday, so Dalbec could slot in against right-hander Logan Gilbert.

Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Gets Sunday off
Goldschmidt is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
He'll receive just his second day off of the season following a big Saturday in which he went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI in the Cardinals' 5-4 win. Juan Yepez will fill in for Goldschmidt at first base.
