  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Sitting out Sunday

Cooper (knee) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Cooper fouled a pitch off the inside of his left knee Saturday and was diagnosed with a contusion after X-rays came back negative, and he'll remain out of the lineup for Sunday's contest. It appears he's avoided a serious injury, though the 31-year-old will miss at least one game. Avisail Garcia will serve as the designated hitter while Bryan De La Cruz starts in right field.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Out of Sunday's lineup

Diaz is not in Sunday's lineup against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

He missed Friday's game with an illness but returned Saturday and went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run. Ji-Man Choi and Taylor Walls will man the infield corners.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: In lineup against righty

Dalbec started at first base and went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 11-3 win over Texas.

Since Franchy Cordero was called up two weeks ago, Dalbec has sat against right-handed starters, but he was in the lineup Saturday against Glenn Otto while Cordero covered left field for the injured Alex Verdugo (foot). Dalbec hasn't hit pitchers of either hand very well in 2022. He had similar issues last season before getting hot over August and September. The Red Sox had thought Dalbec turned a corner then, but the struggles have continued this year.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Has knee contusion

Cooper suffered a left knee contusion Saturday, with X-rays coming back negative, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

He was replaced in the top of the seventh inning after fouling a pitch off the inside of his knee in the sixth. Cooper should be considered day-to-day for now, as it sounds like he avoided a serious injury.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Three hits, homer

Hoskins went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run in an 8-3 win against the Dodgers on Saturday.

Hoskins singled and scored in the third inning, smacked a solo homer in the fourth and singled in the seventh in tallying three hits for the second time in his last six games and extending a seven-game hitting streak. During the stretch, the 29-year-old has batted 16-for-32 with four homers and has bumped his average from .187 to .236.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Steals bag Saturday

Rizzo went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in a loss to the White Sox on Saturday.

Rizzo extended his modest on-base streak to five games with an infield single in the eighth inning, and he subsequently stole third base. However, the first baseman has gone 12 games without a long ball after slugging nine homers across his first 20 contests of the campaign. He's slashing .233/.350/.526 across 137 plate appearances overall.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Exits after fouling ball off leg

Cooper left Saturday's game against the Brewers before the seventh inning after fouling a pitch off himself in the bottom of the sixth inning, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

He was replaced by Erik Gonzalez, with Miguel Rojas shifting over to play first base. Cooper's status will be updated once the team comments on the injury.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Hits solo homer

Olson went 1-for-4 with a solo homer Saturday against the Padres.

Olson opened the scoring with a solo shot off Sean Manaea in the bottom of the first inning. The homer was his fourth of the season, putting him on pace for just 19, but his overall .262/.373/.468 slash line is good for a strong 136 wRC+.

  • Mariners' Alex Blandino: Shipped to Seattle

Blandino was sent from San Francisco to Seattle on Saturday in exchange for Stuart Fairchild.

The move sees the two sides swap depth options. Blandino doesn't have a 40-man roster spot and has spent the year with Triple-A Sacramento, where he's hit .183/.309/.280. He owns a .226/.339/.291 slash line in 279 career major-league plate appearances.

  • Alfonso Rivas 1B | STL

Cubs' Alfonso Rivas: Not in lineup

Rivas will sit Saturday against Arizona.

Rivas appears to have moved into the large side of a platoon role at first base, but he'll sit here even with righty Zac Gallen on the mound for Arizona. Frank Schwindel starts at first base.
