Twins' Payton Eeles: Begins rehab assisgnment

Eeles (knee) is 4-for-12 with two walks in four games for Single-A Fort Meyers during a rehab assignment.

Eeles began the season on the Triple-A injured list after undergoing offseason surgery to address a cartilage issue. It looks like he could be activated from the injured list and join Triple-A St. Paul soon.

  • Kyren Paris SS | LAA

Angels' Kyren Paris: Two steals in win

Paris went 1-for-2 with two walks, two stolen bases and two runs scored in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Athletics.

Paris has started just two of the last six games, as he's struggled to maintain a large share of playing time while Matthew Lugo's been swinging a hot bat. Prior to Tuesday, Paris had gone 1-for-22 over his previous seven games dating back to May 8. The 23-year-old is slashing .198/.279/.397 with a 10:53 BB:K, seven steals, six home runs, 11 RBI and 19 runs scored over 40 contests this season. The poor plate discipline and overall lack of hitting are likely to keep Paris in a part-time role, particularly if Lugo continues to command a majority of the starts in center field.

  • Red Sox's Kristian Campbell: Not close to playing 1B in games

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Tuesday that Campbell is not close to playing first base in games, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Campbell has been working out pregame at first base as the team mulls its options at first base in the wake of Triston Casas' season-ending knee injury. While it seems as though the rookie is under real consideration to play the position in the future, it doesn't sound like it will happen anytime soon. Campbell is starting in center field and batting fifth for the Red Sox on Tuesday against the Mets.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Blue Jays' Andres Gimenez: Back to running

Gimenez (quadriceps) started up a running program Monday, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.

The 26-year-old resumed taking part in baseball activities last week and is now running for the first time since being placed on the injured list May 9 due to the quadriceps strain. Gimenez is expected to require a brief rehab assignment in the minors before rejoining the Blue Jays, so his activation is likely at least a week away.

  • Colt Keith 3B | DET

Tigers' Colt Keith: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Keith is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's contest in St. Louis.

Keith has now been out of the lineup two times over the last three games, and all three have been against right-handed pitching. Riley Greene is at designated hitter and Spencer Torkelson is at first base for the Tigers.

  • Angels' Christian Moore: Promoted to Triple-A

Moore has been promoted to Triple-A Salt Lake, Taylor Blake Ward of The Sporting Tribune reports.

Moore is being bumped up a level in spite of an unimpressive .234/.342/.323 batting line and 27.4 percent strikeout rate at Double-A Rocket City. The No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, Moore has a shot to debut in 2025, but he'll need to pick up the production.

  • Travis Bazzana 2B | CLE

Guardians' Travis Bazzana: Expected to miss 8-to-10 weeks

The Guardians announced Tuesday that Bazzana has been diagnosed with a right internal oblique strain and is expected to be out for 8-to-10 weeks.

Bazzana suffered the injury on a swing during a game with Double-A Akron last Wednesday. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, Bazzana has slashed .252/.362/.433 with four home runs and eight stolen bases over 33 contests with Akron this season. The injury won't help Bazzana's chances of reaching the majors later this season.

  • David Hamilton SS | BOS

Red Sox's David Hamilton: Gets another start

Hamilton started at second base and went 1-for-4 and was caught stealing in Monday's 3-1 win over the Mets.

Hamilton filled in for a slumping Kristian Campbell at second base for a second straight game, but that may be the extent of it for now. Red Sox bench coach Ramon Vazquez indicated the break for Campbell was a reset, per Christopher Smith of MassLive.com, and that he would rejoin the starting nine Tuesday. During his two-start run, Hamilton went 3-for-8 with a double, a run scored and 1-for-2 in steal attempts.

  • Kyle DeBarge 2B | MIN

Twins' Kyle DeBarge: Catching fire at High-A

DeBarge (wrist) is 6-for-16 with four RBI, three stolen bases and six runs scored in his last four games since returning from a wrist injury.

DeBarge missed one week of action after being struck by a pitch on his wrist earlier in the month, but he's shown no sign of slowing down since his return. The 21-year-old is now batting .294 with four home runs, 28 RBI, 20 stolen bags and 33 runs in 126 at-bats this season for the Kernels.

  • Kody Clemens 1B | MIN

Twins' Kody Clemens: Hitting bench Monday

Clemens is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Guardians.

Though he'll exit the lineup with southpaw Logan Allen taking the hill for Cleveland, the left-handed-hitting Clemens appears to have temporarily settled into a regular starting role versus righties while injuries have begun to mount for Minnesota. Clemens started in each of the Twins' last five games, going 8-for-19 with two home runs, one double, two walks, six RBI and an additional run.
