  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Astros' Tony Kemp: Back in action Sunday

Kemp (foot) will start in left field and bat eighth Sunday against the Dodgers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Kemp departed early in Saturday's 14-0 win after getting hit on the pitch by a foot, but it appears his removal was merely precautionary with the Astros enjoying a gigantic lead. The 26-year-old made it through warmups Sunday without incident and will reprise his starting role in the outfield in the series finale.

  • Blue Jays' Brandon Drury: Checks out of starting nine

Drury is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mariners.

With four hits in 26 at-bats during his eight appearances for the Blue Jays, Drury hasn't made much of a positive impression for his new team. Those struggles are unlikely to result in Drury getting phased out of the Blue Jays' infield picture, though he might have to settle for a more restricted role until his bat begins to heat up.

  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

Athletics' Marcus Semien: Swipes 12th base in win

Semien went 2-for-3 with a stolen base in a win over the Tigers on Saturday.

Semien's success from the eight hole continues, with the shortstop now hitting .381 over his 42 at-bats out of that slotting in the order. The shortstop also tied a career high by swiping his 12th base of the season, and he's just two doubles away from equaling the high-water mark in that category that he set in 2016.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Astros' Tony Kemp: Leaves game with foot injury

Kemp was removed from Saturday's game after getting hit by a pitch on the foot, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet reports.

Kemp was plunked in the eighth inning with Houston up by seven runs, so manager A.J. Hinch played it cautious and had Jake Marisnick run for Kemp.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: To join big-league roster Saturday

Lowe will be called up from Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Marc Topkin of The Tampa Bay Times reports.

Lowe will take the place of Daniel Robertson -- who is headed to the DL with a left thumb sprain -- on the active roster prior to Saturday's game against the White Sox. Across 46 games with Durham this year, Lowe slashed .304/.380/.613 with 14 home runs and 35 RBI. Look for him to receive regular time at the keystone during his first taste of the big leagues.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Not expected back this weekend

Altuve (knee) will not be activated off the disabled list when eligible Sunday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Manager A.J. Hinch added that he's not confident that Altuve will be ready to go for the two-game interleague series in San Francisco beginning Monday. Altuve was scheduled to go through some running and other cardiovascular exercises on the Astros' current road trip, but that hasn't happened yet. Hinch hopes that can be accomplished Saturday or Sunday.

  • Tony Renda 2B | BOS

Red Sox's Tony Renda: Headed to Boston

Renda will be recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket prior to Saturday's matchup against the Yankees, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.

Renda is set for his Red Sox debut after Ian Kinsler, Rafael Devers and Blake Swihart all ended up on the disabled list with hamstring injuries. Renda was hitting .318 with one homer and seven RBI through 20 games at Triple-A, and he'll likely draw starts at the keystone along with Brock Holt until the Boston infield returns to health.

  • Blue Jays' Yangervis Solarte: On bench versus Mariners

Solarte is not in the lineup against Seattle on Friday, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Solarte will take a seat for just the second time since the All-Star break as Aledmys Diaz draws the start at shortstop. Dating back to the start of the second half, Solarte is hitting just .188 with a .507 OPS and five RBI in 13 games. Look for him to return to the lineup Saturday.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Astros' Tony Kemp: Takes seat against lefty

Kemp is out of the lineup against the Dodgers on Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Kemp will retreat to the bench with southpaw Alex Wood on the mound. Since the beginning of July, Kemp is hitting .264/.381/.415 with two home runs, eight RBI and four stolen bases. Jake Marisnick will draw a start in the outfield during the series opener.

  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

Rangers' Elvis Andrus: Drives in three, scores twice

Andrus went 3-for-6 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored Thursday against the Orioles.

Andrus joined in the Rangers' offensive barrage Thursday, extending his hitting streak to 13 games. In that span, he has gone 21-for-52 with 10 RBI and 12 runs scored. That run has driven Andrus' batting average up to .284, it's highest mark since June 19.
