  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Engaging in baseball activities

Bogaerts (shoulder) resumed running the bases, taking light grounders and doing one-handed drills in the batting cage this past week, MLB.com reports.

Bogaerts broke his left shoulder while making a diving stop in the infield May 20 and remains on the 10-day IL. The veteran infielder isn't likely to return until July at the earliest, given that he has yet to take regular swings. When he does come back from the IL, Bogaerts indicated that he will adjust his swing to use a two-handed follow-through in order to protect his injured shoulder. He's undergoing regular imaging on the shoulder to determine when he'll be allowed to start ramping up further.

  • Luis Garcia 2B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Big day in Friday's rout

Garcia went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and a stolen base in Friday's win over the Rockies.

The Nationals erupted for 11 runs at Coors Field, and Garcia did his part by taking Dakota Hudson deep in the third inning. The second baseman snapped a 21-game homer drought with the performance, and on the season he's slashing .266/.299/.395 with six long balls, 21 runs, 31 RBI and a career-high 10 steals in 64 contests.

  • David Villar 1B | SF

Giants' David Villar: Joins big-league club

The Giants recalled Villar from Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Villar has spent the entire season in Triple-A after failing to make the MLB roster out of spring training. During his time in Sacramento, he's slashed .272/.352/.487 with 12 homers and 46 RBI in 264 plate appearances. He only posted a .551 OPS in the majors last season, however, so his Triple-A success shouldn't be expected to translate into the big leagues.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Flashes power Friday

Albies went 2-for-5 with a walk, a double, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Friday's win over the Yankees.

The second baseman had a sluggish start to the season, but he appears to be heating up along with the weather. Over the last nine games, Albies is batting .308 (12-for-39) with four doubles, a triple, two homers, seven RBI and 10 runs scored while hitting second in the order behind Jarred Kelenic.

  • Mets' Jose Iglesias: Four hits, three RBI in win

Iglesias went 4-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored in Friday's 11-1 win over the Cubs.

Iglesias was active early, singling and scoring a run in the second inning, hitting an RBI single in the third and adding a two-run single in the fourth. He later added another base hit in the seventh. Iglesias has gone an impressive 14-for-32 with six RBI and five runs scored in his return to the majors while primarily starting at second base against left-handed pitchers.

  • Adael Amador SS | COL

Rockies' Adael Amador: Hits 10-day IL

Amador (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday.

Amador suffered a right oblique strain in Thursday's game against the Dodgers, a injury similar to one he sustained earlier in the season at Double-A Hartford. Considering Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) is coming off the IL and Amador put up a .394 OPS in 10 big-league games, the 21-year-old doesn't have a clear path to at-bats in Colorado once he gets healthy.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Officially activated

Rodgers (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Rodgers is officially back on the Rockies' active roster after missing exactly two weeks of action. While he isn't in the lineup for Friday's contest, he should be expected to take over second base duties from Alan Trejo this weekend.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Not facing lefty

Lux is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Angels.

With the Dodgers facing a lefty for the second straight night, Lux will once again be held out of the starting lineup. Instead, Chris Taylor will bat eighth and play second base.

  • Adael Amador SS | COL

Rockies' Adael Amador: Set for IL stint

Amador will be placed on the injured list Friday with a right oblique strain, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Amador's move to the injured list comes as Brendan Rodgers gets activated from the IL, meaning the rookie's playing time was coming to an end regardless. The 21-year-old Amador appeared in 10 games with the Rockies but struggled to a .171/.194/.200 slash line with a stolen base. While it's unclear how long he'll be sidelined, there is optimism that his recovery will be quick.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Reinstatement coming

Rodgers (hamstring) will be activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Rodgers suffered a mild left hamstring strain June 7 and after a couple weeks of recovery and a brief minor-league rehab assignment, he'll rejoin the Rockies active roster. Adael Amador (oblique) will hit the IL in a corresponding move. Prior to the injury, Rodgers owned a .699 OPS across 230 plate appearances.
