Nolan Gorman 2B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Returns to lineup Tuesday
Gorman (back) is starting at second base and batting sixth Tuesday versus Arizona.
Gorman was held out of Sunday's series finale against the Cubs along with Monday's series opener against the Diamondbacks, but his sore back is apparently feeling much better. The 23-year-old slugger carries an .813 OPS with 20 home runs and 62 RBI through 90 games this season.

Enrique Hernandez SS | LAD
Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Returning to Dodgers in trade
The Dodgers acquired Hernandez in a trade from the Red Sox on Tuesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports. The Red Sox will receive pitchers Nick Robertson and Justin Hagenman in return for Hernandez, per Jeff Passan of ESPN.com.
Hernandez has posted an ugly .222/.279/.320 batting line in 323 plate appearances this season after also struggling at the dish in 2022, but he can play shortstop and second base, and the Dodgers need help at both spots. The 31-year-old seems likely to operate in a super-utility role, even covering some outfield, as he makes his return to Los Angeles. He played six seasons with the Dodgers between 2015 and 2020.

Luis Garcia 2B | WAS
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Not in lineup Tuesday
Garcia is absent from the lineup Tuesday versus the Rockies.
Michael Chavis will start at second base and bat seventh as the Nationals face off against left-hander Austin Gomber. The left-handed-hitting Garcia has slashed just .257/.266/.391 with one home run in 114 plate appearances this year versus southpaws.

Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU
Mets' Luis Guillorme: Likely out 4-to-6 weeks
Guillorme (calf) is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks after imaging scans Tuesday showed a Grade 2 strain of his right calf.
Guillorme was placed on the 10-day injured list over the weekend and can now be ruled out until at least late August or possibly even into September. The 28-year-old had slashed .238/.304/.347 with one home run through 50 games (114 plate appearances) in a utility-infield role this season with the Mets.

Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Racks up three hits
Donovan went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in Monday's 10-6 win over the Diamondbacks.
After being out of the lineup from Thursday to Saturday, Donovan has checked back in for each of the last two games. While his persistent flexor strain continues to limit him to designated hitter, he could find himself out of the lineup when other players need to rest their legs. Donovan has gone 10-for-32 (.313) since the All-Star break, and he has a .287/.371/.430 slash line with 11 home runs, 34 RBI, 44 runs scored and four stolen bases over 90 contests this season.

Ha-seong Kim 2B | ATL
Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Clubs two homers in loss
Kim went 2-for-3 with two home runs, three RBI and a walk in Monday's 8-4 loss to the Pirates.
Kim led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo shot, then added a two-run blast in the fifth. The infielder has racked up six multi-hit efforts in his last 12 contests, but none of them have come in consecutive games. He's slashing .270/.363/.447 with 14 homers, 37 RBI, 53 runs scored and 18 stolen bases over 96 games this season.

Liover Peguero SS | PIT
Pirates' Liover Peguero: Swats first homer
Peguero went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Monday's 8-4 win over the Padres.
Pegeuro went yard in the fourth inning, and his homer stood as the knock that gave the Pirates enough to win. This was his fifth game since his July 17 call-up, and he's gone 3-for-18 (.167) with two extra-base hits and four RBI. He appears to be the Pirates' preferred shortstop versus left-handed pitchers, but Peguero could see an increased role with Tucupita Marcano (knee) leaving Monday's game with a ligament injury.

Alan Trejo SS | COL
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Knocks four hits
Trejo went 4-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI in Monday's win over Washington.
Trejo had a near-perfect day at the plate, highlighted by the seventh inning where he doubled and scored a run. It was his first multi-hit game since May 26 -- in 14 games between then and Monday, he posted a .583 OPS with 12 strikeouts in 33 at-bats. Trejo improved his season slash line to .256/.291/.353 with 11 extra-base hits and 15 runs scored through 142 plate appearances.

Nolan Gorman 2B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Held out of series opener
Gorman (back) isn't in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
Gorman will miss his second straight contest while tending to back soreness. Brendan Donovan gets the start in the DH slot and is set to bat leadoff in Gorman's absence.
