  • Nolan Gorman 2B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Notches second steal

Gorman went 0-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Dodgers.

This was just the second time in the last seven games Gorman has failed to record a hit, though he's just 6-for-26 (.231) in that span. He had a 9.0 percent walk rate last year, but it's up to 13.1 percent so far in 2023. He's still striking out at a 29.0 percent clip, but Gorman has a steady .279/.370/.547 slash line with six home runs, 22 RBI, seven runs scored, five doubles and two steals through 100 plate appearances.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Swipes second bag

McNeil went 0-for-1 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 4-0 loss to Atlanta.

The game was called after five innings due to rain, preventing McNeil from adding to his line. The 31-year-old has been on a tear, batting .405 (17-for-42) over the last 12 games and boosting his slash line on the season to .298/.416/.415 with one homer, two steals, nine RBI and 11 runs in 113 plate appearances.

  • Miguel Vargas 2B | CHW

Dodgers' Miguel Vargas: Clubs first homer of campaign

Vargas went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 7-3 win against the Cardinals.

Vargas provided the final runs of the contest for the Dodgers with his two-run shot to left field in the seventh inning. It was his first homer of the campaign and the second of his career. While Vargas has shown good discipline at the plate this season -- he ranks second on the team with 16 walks and has recorded a solid 20.9 percent strikeout rate -- the 23-year-old's overall production has been mild. He's slashing .219/.363/.342 with Friday's home run, four doubles, a triple, 11 runs, eight RBI and one stolen base through 91 plate appearances.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Rojas went 1-for-3 with three RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 9-1 win over the Rockies.

The 28-year-old pinch hit for shortstop Nick Ahmed in the seventh inning and remained in the game to play third base. Rojas knocked in a run on a fielder's choice before delivering two more runs on a double in the ninth. The hit snapped an 0-for-15 run for Rojas, who is up to 14 RBI and three steals through 22 games. With right-hander Noah Davis on the hill for Colorado on Saturday, expect Rojas back in the starting lineup and leading off for the Diamondbacks.

  • Brice Turang 2B | MIL

Brewers' Brice Turang: Sits against lefty

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Sitting against lefty

Rojas is not in the starting lineup Friday at Colorado.

It'll be a righty-heavy attack for the Diamondbacks with southpaw Kyle Freeland on the mound for the Rockies. Rojas has a .711 OPS this year against righties and a .522 OPS versus lefties.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Keeps running wild
