Padres' Luis Urias: Drives in three

Urias went 2-for-3 with a double, walk and three RBI in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Rays.

Urias went 1-for-24 in his first eight games with the Padres following his July 20 callup from Triple-A El Paso, but the rookie is finally starting to show the polished plate approach that made him a highly regarded prospect. Over his subsequent 12 contests, Urias has slashed .333/.442/.472 with seven RBI and eight runs scored. Urias shifted over to shortstop Tuesday when Fernando Tatis (back) exited late in the contest and will man that position in the series finale Wednesday while batting seventh.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: On bench vs. lefty

Rojas is not starting Wednesday against the Rockies.

Rojas will give way to Adam Jones in right field for Wednesday's series finale as the Diamondbacks stack right-handed bats against southpaw Kyle Freeland. The rookie is 3-for-7 with a walk and two runs scored through his first two big-league games.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Minimum stay on IL expected

McNeil (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday, though he's expected to return when first eligible Aug. 24, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

McNeil suffered a hamstring injury during Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Braves, but he's not expected to miss more than 10 days after an MRI revealed only a mild strain. Ruben Tejada will take McNeil's place on the roster.

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Likely headed for IL

McNeil is expected to require a stint on the 10-day injured list after injuring his left hamstring in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Braves, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.

McNeil was pulled from the contest during his ninth-inning plate appearance when he grabbed at his hamstring while attempting to beat out an infield single. The Mets announced shortly after the game that McNeil would be sent in for an MRI on Wednesday. While official word on the results of McNeil's tests aren't yet available, the Mets seem prepared to be without the 27-year-old's services, as Ruben Tejada has been summoned from Triple-A Syracuse to join the taxi squad. Unless the Mets receive surprisingly good news from McNeil's MRI, expect him to be moved to the IL later Wednesday or Thursday.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Reaches base four times in win

Frazier went 3-for-5 with a double, a walk and an RBI in Tuesday's win over the Angels.

Frazier scored the Pirates' first run of the game in the third inning and drove home Pablo Reyes with a double in the seventh. The three-hit game was his seventh of the season and first since July 7. With the productive performance, the 27-year-old upped his slash line to .270/.330/.392.

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Exits with hamstring injury

McNeil was removed from Tuesday's loss to the Braves with a left hamstring injury, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

McNeil suffered the injury attempting to beat out a groundball during the ninth inning, so manager Mickey Callaway didn't have much information on the injury after the game, other than to say McNeil's hamstring tightened up. The 27-year-old is being evaluated to determine the severity of the injury, which will include an MRI on Wednesday, per Tim Healey of Newsday. McNeil at the very least is unlikely to be in the lineup Wednesday in Atlanta.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Playing second base

Marte is starting at second base and hitting third Tuesday against the Rockies.

With Josh Rojas up in the majors, it seems that Marte fits best at second base, particularly against righties when Jarrod Dyson is in the lineup. Dyson is the best defensive center fielder on the team, and Rojas is probably a better fit in the outfield, while Marte is a good defender at the keystone.

    Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Sitting Tuesday

Marte is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Rockies.

Tuesday appears to be just a routine day off for the 25-year-old, who is carrying a nine-game hitting streak with one homer, eight runs and three RBI over that time. Jarrod Dyson will shift to center field, leading off, with Josh Rojas starting in right field, batting sixth.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Could take on apprenticeship role

Lux is likely to join the Dodgers in September but may not be added to the active roster, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Manager Dave Roberts recently acknowledged that Lux has earned an opportunity to join the team when rosters expand in September, in some capacity. That could mean that Lux joins the team in a "ride-along" scenario; traveling and taking part in team activities but not as a member of the active roster (and not playing in games). Los Angeles took a similar approach with Will Smith -- who is now the team's starting catcher -- at the end of last season. Lux is slashing .356/.427/.627 with 24 home runs across two minor-league stops this year and appears to be a big part of the Dodgers' future plans.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Makes MLB debut

Rojas started in left field and went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Monday's 8-6 win over the Rockies.

Rojas had his contract selected from Triple-A Reno on Monday and was immediately put to work. With David Peralta battling neck stiffness, Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo gave the left-handed-hitting Rojas an opportunity against Colorado right-hander Peter Lambert. Rojas has put up strong numbers at Triple-A this season and is an intriguing bat with defensive versatility.
