  • Logan Forsythe 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Logan Forsythe: Out of lineup Sunday

Forsythe is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

Forsythe continues to struggle at the plate this season, having now seen his batting average dip from .286 to .198 since his activation from the disabled list on May 23. He'll get the day off Sunday with Chase Utley taking over at second base and batting leadoff.

  • Giants' Kelby Tomlinson: Leading off Sunday

Tomlinson will start at shortstop and man the leadoff spot Sunday against the Twins, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

With manager Bruce Bochy holding out three of the team's regular infielders (Brandon Belt, Joe Panik and Brandon Crawford) in the series finale, Tomlinson will not only receive the opportunity to start but also assume a prominent spot in the lineup. The utility man exhibited excellent on-base skills during his time with the Giants the last two seasons, but he hasn't been quite as productive in that regard in 2017, albeit in a more limited sample. It's expected that Tomlinson will reprise his usual bench role in the Giants' following game Tuesday against the Royals.

  • Diamondbacks' Brandon Drury: Socks two-run homer

Drury went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Brewers.

Drury's sixth-inning jack -- his sixth of the season -- gave the Diamondbacks the lead for the first time all game and eventually would go down as the winning hit. The infielder is batting just .206 over his last 11 games, but he's at least been displaying a little more power of late with three extra-base hits in his past four contests.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Two doubles, two RBI in Friday's loss

Frazier went 2-for-6 with two doubles, a run scored and two RBI in Friday's 12-7 loss to the Marlins.

He's cooled down considerably since his mid-May explosion, and Frazier is slashing only .214/.281/.321 through seven games in June with four RBI and six runs. He's still in the leadoff spot for the Bucs, however, allowing him to retain some fantasy value even when hits aren't falling him for him.

  • Logan Forsythe 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Logan Forsythe: Returns to primary second base role

Forsythe will move back to second base with the return of third baseman Justin Turner from the disabled list, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

He had been filling in at third base in Turner's absence. Forsythe has struggled mightily since returning from a toe injury in late May, as he is just 4-for-45 since his return. The Dodgers infield is much deeper with Turner around, and as such expect Forsythe to get regular rest to keep him healthy and hopefully prevent slumps like the one he is in right now.

  • Diamondbacks' Brandon Drury: Heads to bench Friday

Drury is not in the lineup Friday against the Brewers.

Drury has just three hits in the past week, so he'll head to the bench for a night off. Chris Owings will slide over to second base to fill in for him while Nick Ahmed enters the lineup at shortstop.

  • Diamondbacks' Brandon Drury: Snaps 14-game homer drought

Drury went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run during Wednesday's win over San Diego.

Drury went 14 games without a home run and posted a discouraging .525 OPS with just four RBI and two runs during that stretch. He's sporting a respectable .286/.330/.450 slash line for the campaign, but it hasn't translated into noteworthy counting stats. Drury's five homers, 22 RBI and 19 runs only move the needle in deeper settings.

  • Chesny Young 2B | CHC

Cubs' Chesny Young: Not hitting for power at Triple-A

Young, 24, is hitting .280/.311/.332 with zero home runs, three steals and a 28:9 K:BB in 193 at-bats at Triple-A Iowa.

He recently missed about a week on the DL with an undisclosed injury. Since returning, he has continued to make excellent contact while not hitting for any notable power. It's the type of second base profile that is being phased out of today's game. Young will have a particularly difficult time seeing playing time with the Cubs, given their depth of talent up the middle.

  • Padres' Yangervis Solarte: Hits first-inning homer

Solarte went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI during Wednesday's loss to Arizona.

It was just the fifth homer of the season for Solarte, and he's sporting an uncharacteristically low .249/.325/.362 slash line. San Diego has also scored the fewest runs in the majors, so that hurts his fantasy value, too. It appears Solarte is gaining momentum, though. He's posted an .856 OPS and .373 wOBA through his past 14 games.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Hits bench Wednesday

Frazier is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Orioles.

Frazier is batting just .192 (10-for-52) over the past 14 games, so with lefty Wade Miley taking the hill for Baltimore, he'll head to the bench for a night off. Jose Osuna will man left field in his stead.
