Padres utility man Cory Spangenberg will start for the Padres in Sunday's game against the Rockies. He'll bat second and play second base.

This is Spangenberg's first start since an April 24 game against the Dodgers. 

Third baseman Yangervis Solarte is back in the lineup and will hit fifth. After taking Saturday off, shortstop Alexi Amarista is back in the lineup and will bat eighth. 

First baseman Yonder Alonso and shortstop Alexi Amarista were held out of the Padres' starting lineup for Saturday's game. 

Yangervis Solarte starts in place of Alonso at first for the fourth time this season but second time in three games. He'll bat fifth in the lineup. 

Clint Barmes also makes his second start in three games for the Padres. He's in the lineup at short for the seventh time this year and will bat eighth.

For the second straight game, Justin Turner replaces Juan Uribe at third base for the Dodgers. 

Turner will make his fourth start of the year at the hot corner, batting second in the lineup. 

The Dodgers also gave a rest to shortstop Jimmy Rollins, who is out of the lineup for just the third time this year. Enrique Hernandez will start just his fourth career game at short, batting eighth in the lineup. 

"JT's been swinging good. Alex has been swinging good. Van Slyke's been swinging good. We’ve got a number of guys that are swinging good which is a good problem," manager Don Mattingly said per the Orange County Register." ... It’s a lot easier when you’re winning. I think guys are happier with what’s going on when the team’s playing well."

Mets third baseman Eric Campbell is out of the starting lineup for the second straight game on Saturday. Campbell is hitting .204 this season.

Just like Friday, the Mets replace Campbell by moving David Murphy over from second base. Dilson Herrera replaces Murphy at second, batting sixth in the order. 

Padres second baseman Yangervis Solarte had one his best performances at the plate during Friday's 14-3 win over the Rockies.

Solarte went 2 for 5 with a season-high four RBI during the win. Solarte has at least two hits in three of his last four games. He is now batting .328 on the season.

The Mets have wasted no time getting second baseman Dilson Herrera in the lineup upon his promotion Friday. He is batting seventh against the host Nationals. Daniel Murphy is set to play third while David Wright recovers from injury.

The odd man out is Eric Campbell, who managed a slash line of .204/.328/.327 in Wright's place. His absence Friday marks his first after 15 straight starts.

Herrera was sizzling at Triple-A Las Vegas before his call-up. He slammed at least two hits in seven of his last eight starts.

The Mets announced after Thursday's game that second baseman Dilson Herrera will be recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas Friday.

Rated the No. 46 prospect in baseball by Baseball America, Herrera received his first exposure to major-league pitching last season, hitting .220/.303/.407 with three home runs in 59 at-bats. He shot out to a .375/.407/.513 line in his first 80 at-bats at Las Vegas this season before being recalled. Herrera's presence could push Daniel Murphy over to third base while David Wright continues to recover.

Nationals third baseman Yunel Escobar is out of the starting lineup again Wednesday with Danny Espinosa taking over the spot, the team announced.

Escobar suffered a hand injury in Monday's game with cuts on his hand when Andrelton Simmons slid into his glove trying to reach third base. Espinosa, who has played second for the majority of the year, will move to third with Dan Uggla drawing another start at second.

Manager Matt Williams said that Escobar is available in an emergency situation, as he was for Tuesday's game. He expects the infielder will be ready to return to his regular role Thursday, the Washington Post reports.

The Nationals are currently the favorites (-110) against Atlanta.

Padres second baseman Yangervis Solarte has back-to-back multi-hit games for the first time this season, courtesy of a two-hit performance in a Tuesday loss to Houston.

Solarte singled in a run in the first and added another single and two walks. He has five hits in the last two games combined in raising his average from .283 to .346. with a surprising 12 RBI and fine .414 on-base percentage.

Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford was placed on the 15-day disabled list prior to Tuesday's contest against San Francisco after MRI revealed a torn right oblique, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"It's a bad tear," Crawford said.

Crawford suffered the injury during Monday's game against the Giants. Manager Don Mattingly did not issue a concrete timetable for his return, but said he'd be surprised if his stint on the DL lasted only 15 days. He is hitting .245/.260/.408 with one home run, three RBI and one stolen base in 49 at-bats.

The team recalled Kike Hernandez from Triple-A, and will start in center field, while Alex Guerrero moved to left field in place of Crawford.
