Kemp is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Astros and lefty Framber Valdez, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Kemp's strong month of June helped him get more time against left-handed starters, but he'll take a seat against Valdez to start the series. Chad Pinder, Ramon Laureano and Stephen Piscotty will fill the outfield from left to right Tuesday.

Hoerner is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

The second baseman takes a seat following a 2-for-4 effort in Monday's blowout loss. Sergio Alcantara, recalled Tuesday, will start at second base as the Cubs try to snap their 10-game losing streak.

Brujan is expected to be called up as the 27th man for Wednesday's doubleheader against Cleveland, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

While Brujan should be available for Wednesday's twin bill, he could remain on the active roster going forward since Manuel Margot (hamstring) will likely be placed on the 10-day injured list as part of a corresponding move. The 23-year-old has hit just .210 since June 1, but he's slashing .259/.344/.471 with 21 extra-base hits, 37 runs, 29 RBI and 15 stolen bases at Triple-A Durham in 2021.

Garcia has not played for Triple-A Rochester since June 25 due to an undisclosed injury, Sal Maiorana of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reports.

The 21-year-old homered in his first at-bat June 25, his fourth long ball in three days at Triple-A, but then exited the game and hasn't suited up since. The injury explains why Garcia wasn't called up recently when the Nationals dealt with some injuries on their infield, notably to Trea Turner. Until the team released word on what Garcia is dealing with, there's no way to predict when he might see game action or when he might be in line for a return to the majors, but his .383/.456/.767 slash line over 15 games in June for Rochester was very encouraging.

India (ankle) is batting leadoff and playing second base Tuesday against the Royals, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

The rookie is back in action a day after being a late scratch with right ankle soreness. India is hitting .282 with four doubles and three RBI in his last 11 games. He has also drawn six walks in that span.

Brujan could be added to the Rays' active roster in the near future, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Manuel Margot (hamstring) will likely be placed on the 10-day injured list after he left Monday's win over Cleveland, and Brujan is a strong candidate to take his spot on the 26-man roster. The Rays could wait to announce an official roster move since Tuesday's contest has been postponed, but the 23-year-old would be a versatile option for the major-league club if he's ultimately called up. Across 49 games at Triple-A Durham this year, Brujan has slashed .259/.344/.471 with nine homers, 29 RBI, 37 runs and 15 stolen bases.

Frazier went 2-for-3 with two walks and a run scored in Monday's 11-1 rout of Atlanta.

The 29-year-old did a great job setting the table for the Pirates offense, but with Ben Gamel doing most of the team's damage from the six hole (two homers and six RBI), Frazier didn't get much of a chance to cash in on the times he reached base. The effort still boosted his slash line on the season to .324/.396/.460 with four homers, four steals, 28 RBI and 51 runs through 83 games.

Arroyo went 1-for-3 with a solo homer in Monday's 5-4 win over the Angels.

Arroyo got the Red Sox on the board in his first at-bat since June 20 with a solo home run to left field. The 26-year-old is slashing .266/.329/.453 with five homers, 20 RBI, 18 runs scored, a steal and a 6:38 BB:K over 141 plate appearances. Arroyo should have a clear path to regular starts at second base now that he's back from his brief stint on the injured list.

Rosario went 2-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored in Monday's 9-8 loss to Tampa Bay.

The shortstop did a little bit of nearly everything Monday as Cleveland's Nos. 1 through 4 hitters combined to go 9-for-19 while accounting for all eight RBI. Rosario might be heating up again -- he's hit safely in four of the last five games after a slight skid in late June. For the year, he's slashing .266/.316/.380 with five home runs, eight steals, 24 RBI, 40 runs scored and four triples through 294 plate appearances.

Short went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in Monday's win over the Rangers.

Short hit his second home run of the season in the sixth inning with a runner on to extend the Tigers' lead to 6-0. He added a sacrifice fly in the eighth to make it 7-0, and Detroit would hang on for the 7-3 victory. Short has started to see more playing time and has responded well, as he now has a .937 OPS for the season. Niko Goodrum (finger) began a rehab assignment recently and could complicate things when he's able to return to the team, but Short is at least making a case for a regular role moving forward.
