Kyle Farmer 2B | COL
Rockies' Kyle Farmer: Ceding first base to Hiura
Farmer is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.
After Michael Toglia was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday, Farmer initially looked to be the next man up at first base, but the Rockies instead appear content to keep the 34-year-old in a utility role. Farmer will be on the bench for a second straight matchup with a right-hander while recent call-up Keston Hiura garners another start at first base.

Ronny Simon 2B | PIT
Pirates' Ronny Simon: Claimed by Pittsburgh
The Pirates claimed Simon off waivers from the Marlins on Monday.
Simon has slashed .234/.327/.277 in 56 plate appearances in the majors this season but offers defensive versatility with the ability to play all over the infield and also the corner outfield spots. Tanner Rainey was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR
Blue Jays' Andres Gimenez: Likely to be activated Tuesday
The Blue Jays are expected to reinstate Gimenez (quadriceps) from the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's series opener versus the Phillies, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Gimenez has been on the shelf since May 9 due to a right quad strain, but after completing a four-game rehab assignment at Single-A Dunedin last week while going 2-for-12 with a 2:1 BB:K, he looks like he'll be ready to rejoin the Blue Jays ahead of their six-game week. The 26-year-old should settle back in as Toronto's everyday second baseman, which could result in the hot-hitting Ernie Clement shifting over to third base and Addison Barger moving to right field.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Continues revival
Semien went 2-for-2 with two walks, a double, a stolen base and three runs scored in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Cardinals.

Ha-seong Kim 2B | ATL
Rays' Ha-Seong Kim: Makes first defensive appearance
Kim (shoulder) started at second base Sunday, continuing his rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham, MLB.com reports.
Kim made his fifth total appearance with Durham on Sunday, but it marked the first time he fielded a position. Overall, he's gone 2-for-16 with two walks, two RBI and a stolen base. Kim should be activated by mid-June.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Homers in Sunday's loss
Edman went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Yankees.
Edman found a groove against the Yankees' pitching during this weekend series, going 6-for-12 with a homer, three RBI and three doubles over three games. The 30-year-old hadn't hit a long ball since April 22 versus the Cubs, which was before his stint on the injured list due to an ankle issue. Edman is now at a .247/.287/.487 slash line with nine homers, 29 RBI, 26 runs scored and two stolen bases over 42 contests this season.

DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Four hits in win
LeMahieu went 4-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Dodgers.
LeMahieu had one of his best games of the season, which included knocking in a run with a single in the fifth and another RBI on a ninth-inning double. The veteran infielder's big game lifted his average from .171 to .239 over 15 contests this season. He's added a home run, five RBI, two runs scored and no stolen bases over 51 plate appearances. LeMahieu is seeing a majority of the playing time at second base, but he occasionally cedes some at-bats versus right-handed pitchers to Jorbit Vivas. Oswald Peraza will also be a threat to LeMahieu's playing time at the keystone once Jazz Chisholm (oblique) returns, likely as the starting third baseman.
-
Adam Frazier 2B | KC
Pirates' Adam Frazier: Pops third homer
Frazier went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Padres.
Frazier has hit fairly well over his last 11 games, going 14-for-40 (.350) with five extra-base hits and a 4:8 BB:K in that span. His homer Sunday gave the Pirates a 4-1 lead in the fourth inning, but they were unable to make it last. Frazier is up to three homers, 15 RBI, 15 runs scored, four stolen bases and eight doubles over 55 contests this season, though he has a relatively unimpressive .249/.319/.349 slash line overall.
-
Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Tallies three hits in win
Hoerner went 3-for-4 with two RBI in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Reds.
Hoerner was caught stealing for just the third time this season in 14 attempts, but it otherwise was a productive afternoon. The speedy infielder pushed his batting average over .300 to sit at .301 through 55 games. Hoerner's career best in the category is .302, which he set back in 2021, albeit in only 44 games as he missed significant time due to injuries.

Jeremiah Jackson SS | BAL
Orioles' Jeremiah Jackson: Promoted to Triple-A
Jackson was promoted to Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
Jackson will make the jump to Triple-A after batting .250 with four home runs, 18 RBI, 17 runs scored and two stolen bases over 176 at-bats in 44 games with Double-A Chesapeake this season. If he impresses with Norfolk, it's possible that Jackson could make his major-league debut down the road this year.
