Christopher Morel DH | MIA
Rays' Christopher Morel: Excels in leadoff spot
Morel went 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored Saturday against the Padres.
Morel led off for the first time as a Ray, stepping into the role in the absence of Yandy Diaz (knee). Morel played a key role in rallies in the second and fourth innings, giving him at least one hit in seven of his last 10 starts. In that span, he's gone 10-for-39 with a 38 percent strikeout rate, though he's still managed three RBI and six runs scored.

Enmanuel Valdez 2B | PIT
Red Sox's Enmanuel Valdez: Set to be called up Sunday
The Red Sox are expected to recall Valdez from Triple-A Worcester on Sunday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
Rosters expand to 28 players Sunday, and Boston is slated to add Valdez and right-hander Chase Shugart. Valdez has appeared in 60 major-league games this season, posting a .224/.282/.400 slash line with six home runs and 27 RBI across 189 plate appearances. His addition to the expanded roster boosts the team's infield depth with David Hamilton going on the 10-day injured list Thursday due to a left index finger fracture.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Scores three times in win
Lowe went 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 11-4 win over the Padres.
Lowe received a breather Friday and responded with his first three-hit game since Aug. 3. The second baseman went 0-for-15 in a rough series at Oakland last week but has since hit safely in five of six contests with four doubles. On the season, he's batting .247 with 16 home runs, 49 RBI, 45 runs scored and five stolen bases across 336 plate appearances.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Swipes 27th bag in win
Hoerner went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Nationals.
Hoerner extended his current hit streak to seven games in the fifth inning and then stole his 10th bag in the month of August in the seventh. Over his past 10 games, the shortstop has notched three multi-hit efforts while crossing home plate 10 times. On the season, he is hitting .258 with five home runs, 39 RBI, 72 runs scored and 27 steals across 545 plate appearances.

Christian Moore 2B | LAA
Angels' Christian Moore: Exits minor-league game with injury
Moore (undisclosed) was pulled from a Double-A game Friday due to an undisclosed injury, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
Blum notes that Moore was "in some visible pain" when he departed Friday's contest, and the Angels' top prospect isn't in Rocket City's lineup Saturday. The Angels didn't provide an update on Moore's status when asked Saturday, so it's not yet clear what type of issue he is dealing with or how severe it may be. Moore had been swinging the bat well prior to getting hurt, slashing .294/.348/.506 with five home runs, 10 RBI, 16 runs and two stolen bases over 21 games at the Double-A level.

Vidal Brujan 2B | NYM
Marlins' Vidal Brujan: Placed on injured list
The Marlins placed Brujan on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right shoulder AC joint sprain.
Brujan has gone 5-for-20 with two RBI and two runs scored over his last five games, but he will now have to sit out until at least Sept. 10 as a result of his shoulder injury. Jose Devers was selected from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move and is a candidate to see time at shortstop while Brujan is out, though Xavier Edwards (back) would almost certainly reclaim an everyday role if he's able to make it back from the IL before Brujan.

Jose Devers 2B | ATL
Marlins' Jose Devers: Summoned from Triple-A
The Marlins selected Devers' contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.
Devers has spent most of the season with Jacksonville, where he's slashed .228/.293/.360 with 18 RBI across 209 plate appearances, though he does have MLB experience -- he played 21 games with Miami in 2021. He'll now be called upon to give the Marlins some extra infield depth as Vidal Brujan (shoulder) lands on the injured list. Xavier Edwards (back) is trending toward a return from the injured list in early September, however, so Devers' stay in Miami may be short.

Brice Turang 2B | MIL
Brewers' Brice Turang: Swipes two more bags
Turang went 1-for-4 with a double, two walks, two stolen bases, a run scored and an RBI in a 14-0 win over the Reds in the second game of Friday's doubleheader.
Turang had gone 10 games without a steal prior to Friday, though he's now swiped 39 bags on the season, third most in the majors behind Elly De La Cruz and Shohei Ohtani. Overall, Turang's slashing .255/.321/.359 on the season with seven homers, 61 runs scored and 51 RBI through 516 plate appearances.
