Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Padres' Xander Bogaerts: On verge of rehab assignment
Bogaerts (shoulder) could begin a rehab assignment within the next day or two, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union Tribune reports.
Bogaerts had a CT scan of his left shoulder Monday, the results of which indicated that he is ready to resume playing. Acee indicates that the infielder will likely head out on a rehab assignment with Triple-A El Paso in the coming days, and team officials have previously suggested that a rehab stint would last 7 to 10 days. Though manager Mike Shildt recently said that there is no timeline for Bogaerts' activation from the injured list, if all goes well moving forward, he could rejoin the Padres for their home series against Atlanta that begins July 12.

Jonathan Ornelas SS | ATL
Rangers' Jonathan Ornelas: Gets start at third base
Ornelas started at third base and went 1-for-2 with a walk, a double and an RBI in Tuesday's 7-0 win over the Padres.
Ornelas entered the starting lineup as Josh Smith continued to fill in at shortstop for Corey Seager (wrist). Ornelas and Davis Wendzel are covering third while Seager is unavailable.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Slugs seventh homer
Lowe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, scored twice and drew a walk during the Rays' win over Kansas City on Tuesday.
Lowe's seventh-inning walk enabled him to score on an Isaac Paredes double immediately afterward, and his homer in the ninth frame gave Tampa Bay some additional insurance as the team cruised to a 5-1 victory. The 29-year-old has now hit seven home runs on the year, two of which have come in his last two games.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Another multi-hit game
Altuve went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored during Tuesday's 7-6 loss to Toronto.
For the sixth time in seven games, Altuve generated multiple hits, tagging the Blue Jays for three singles Tuesday. During that stretch, Altuve is 13-for-31 (.419) with a pair of home runs and three stolen bases. He ranks top five in homers, batting average and stolen bases among second basemen this season.

Brandon Drury 1B | CHW
Angels' Brandon Drury: Scores three runs in return
Drury went 1-for-2 with two walks and three runs scored in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Athletics.
Drury missed nine straight games due to an illness before appearing off the bench Sunday versus the Tigers. This was his first start since June 21, and he played the full game at second base. The infielder has struggled this year, slashing .175/.246/.237 with one home run, six RBI, 12 runs scored and no stolen bases over 126 plate appearances. Drury will likely occupy a starting role at the keystone going forward, though Luis Guillorme is also in the mix there.

Adael Amador SS | COL
Rockies' Adael Amador: Activated, optioned to Double-A
The Rockies reinstated Amador (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday and optioned him to Double-A Hartford.
Amador has been playing in rehab games with Hartford while working his way back from a right oblique strain, and he will remain with the Yard Goats now that he's made a full recovery. The 21-year-old went just 6-for-35 (.171) during his first career stint in the majors, and with a .659 OPS through 213 Double-A plate appearances, he clearly still needs more time to develop before he's ready for a more permanent role on the Rockies.

Nolan Gorman 2B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Hits grand slam in win
Gorman went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in a 7-4 win over the Pirates on Tuesday.
Gorman hit a grand slam in the fourth inning and added a single in the sixth. He was mired in a 2-for-29 slump but opened July with his first home run since June 19 and first multi-hit effort since June 4. On the season, the second baseman owns a disappointing .192 average but is currently tied with Ketel Marte for tops at the position with 17 home runs.

Brandon Drury 1B | CHW
Angels' Brandon Drury: Back in starting lineup
Drury (illness) is starting at second base and batting seventh Tuesday, his first start since June 18.
After dealing with a hamstring injury, Drury returned from the injured list June 17. However, since then the infielder has been dealing with an illness that has resulted in multiple late scratches and games on the bench. The 31-year-old came off the bench in Sunday's game but went 0-for-2 with a strikeout.
