Nick Yorke 2B | PIT
Pirates' Nick Yorke: Moved to Pittsburgh
The Pirates acquired Yorke from the Red Sox on Monday in exchange for right-hander Quinn Priester, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Though Yorke was regarded as one of the Red Sox's top position prospects, he had lost some sheen over the past couple of years while his performance had dipped between stops at High-A Greenville and Double-A Portland. Yorke had gotten off to an underwhelming start to the current season at Portland, but he had started to turn some heads again after getting a promotion in early June to Triple-A Worcester, where he posted a .317/.414/.497 slash line with six home runs and six steals in 169 plate appearances while splitting time between second base and left field. Despite showing improvement with the bat at Triple-A, Yorke's long-term path to playing time in Boston was still somewhat blocked, but he should have a greater opportunity to eventually settle into an everyday role with a Pittsburgh organization that's comparatively lacking in established bats at the big-league level. Look for Yorke to report to Triple-A Indianapolis initially, but it wouldn't be surprising if he received his first big-league call-up later in 2024.

Gavin Lux SS | TB
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Homers in Sunday's win
Lux went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run, three walks and a second run scored in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Astros.
Lux's strong start to the second half continued Sunday. He's hit three homers over his last 10 games, matching his total from his first 78 contests this year. The second baseman has added a .238/.297/.357 slash line with 32 RBI, 35 runs scored and four stolen bases over 310 plate appearances. While those numbers aren't great, Lux is batting .464 (13-for-28) with eight RBI and a 4:9 BB:K since the All-Star break.

Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Exits early with knee issue
Polanco left Sunday's 6-3 win over the White Sox in the bottom of the seventh inning as a result of knee pain, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Polanco has been dealing with the knee injury for a while according to manager Scott Servais, but the issue isn't considered to be injured-list worthy. The infielder was also removed partially due to Seattle owning a 6-1 lead entering the bottom of the seventh. Polanco can be considered day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener on the road in Boston.

Nick Gonzales 2B | PIT
Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Heading to IL
Pirates GM Ben Cherington said Sunday that Gonzales (groin) is being placed on the 10-day injured list, and the absence will be measured in weeks, not days, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.
The 25-year-old is expected to return before the end of the season, but when exactly that might be remains to be seen. Gonzales suffered the groin injury during Saturday's matchup with the Diamondbacks and will now be sidelined for the foreseeable future. He got off to a hot start with a .280/.316/.439 slash line in his first 44 games of the season but posted a .533 OPS in July.
