  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Sitting against southpaw

Stott isn't in the Phillies' lineup Saturday against the Marlins.

With left-hander Braxton Garrett set to start for Miami, the left-handed bat of Stott will remain in the Phillies' dugout to begin the game. Josh Harrison will take over at second base and bat seventh.

  • Rockies' Harold Castro: Not starting Saturday

Castro isn't in the Rockies' lineup Saturday against San Francisco, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Castro is 5-for-15 with an RBI and two runs scored through the first week of July, and he'll catch a breather Saturday. Alan Trejo will start at the keystone in Castro's place and bat seventh.

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Another three-hit game

Donovoan went 3-for-5 in Friday's 8-7 loss to the White Sox.

Donovan has a trio of three-hit efforts over his first five games in July. He remains stuck at designated hitter due to a no-throw program to mitigate his arm soreness. His bat's been too hot to keep out of the lineup even with the injury. Donovan owns a strong .289/.375/.415 slash line with nine home runs, 26 RBI, 37 runs scored and four stolen bases over 79 contests.

  • Andy Ibanez 2B | ATH

Tigers' Andy Ibanez: Heads to bench

Ibanez will sit Saturday against Toronto.

Ibanez spent nearly the whole first month of the season in the minors but has since gone on to earn an everyday role with the Tigers, starting 13 games in a row prior to Saturday's absence. That playing time helps his fantasy value in deeper leagues, but his .230/.265/.406 slash line doesn't give much confidence that he'll hold onto a similar role in the second half.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Not starting Saturday

Westburg will be on the bench Saturday against the Twins.

Westburg has impressed through his first 10 major-league games, hitting .314/.400/.457 with as many walks as strikeouts (four). He'll get a breather Saturday with Adam Frazier starting at second base and Ramon Urias starting at third.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Collects two hits Friday

Hoerner went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Friday's 3-0 win over the Yankees. He was also caught stealing.

Hoerner helped lead the offense from the leadoff spot, snapping an 0-for-9 hitless slump across the last two games. He was caught stealing for the third time this season, though he does have 20 stolen bases, so he's been mostly successful in that department. Hoerner's next stolen base will set a new career high.

  • Zach Remillard 2B | CHW

White Sox's Zach Remillard: Drives in three

Remillard went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and three RBI on Friday against the Cardinals.

Remillard has started nine consecutive games, though Friday marked the first time he played in right field. He get the nod over Oscar Colas with a lefty on the mound, so the White Sox appear to be prioritizing Remillard getting consistent run. He's performed well with the opportunity, maintaining a .393 average with eight RBI and three runs scored since taking over an everyday role.

  • Ha-seong Kim 2B | ATL

Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Dealing with toe injury

Kim jammed his right big toe during Friday's game against the Mets and is considered day-to-day, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

In the seventh inning, Kim was thrown out at third base when attempting to stretch a double into a triple. In frustration, he kicked a water cooler in the dugout stairwell, resulting in the toe injury. Kim was subsequently removed from the contest, and Cassavell reports that X-rays on the toe were negative. At this point, it's unclear if Kim will be in the lineup Saturday.

  • Blue Jays' Whit Merrifield: Four RBI in blowout win

Merrifield went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run, an additional RBI and an additional run scored in Friday's 12-2 win over Detroit.

Merrifield gave Toronto a 2-1 lead with an RBI single in the fourth and extended the Blue Jays' advantage to 12-2 with a three-run shot in the ninth. After hitting just two home runs over his first 78 games this season, Merrifield has connected on three long balls over the past two days. Overall, the veteran is slashing .286/.342/.395 with 19 stolen bases, 36 runs scored and 38 RBI across 322 plate appearances, and while his recent power surge is unsustainable, Merrifield is still a valuable offensive player for Toronto.

  • Ha-seong Kim 2B | ATL

Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Pulled early from game

Kim was lifted from Friday's game against the Mets due to an apparent injury, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Kim got cut down while trying to turn a double into a triple in the bottom of the seventh inning and may have tweaked something along the way. Rougned Odor entered at second base for the Padres in the top of the ninth with the game tied 3-3. Kim recorded a double, a walk and a run scored in four plate appearances out of the leadoff spot prior to his departure.
