Reds' Noelvi Marte: Helps in comeback win

Marte went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 6-5 win over Atlanta.

Marte contributed to the Reds' comeback from a 5-1 deficit with his sixth-inning double that plated two (one came home on a throwing error). He then stole his ninth bag of the season. It's been a down year for Marte, who never developed any sustained success at the plate after serving an 80-game suspension, but he's in the midst of an encouraging stretch, having gone 7-for-25 (.280) with four RBI and three steals over the last seven contests.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Giants' Matt Chapman: Shifts to paternity list

The Giants are expected to place Chapman on the paternity list Tuesday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Chapman looked to be getting a maintenance day, as he was out of the lineup for Tuesday's matchup with Baltimore, but he's actually stepped away from the team to be with his growing family. The veteran third baseman -- whose absence Tuesday is just his sixth of the campaign -- should be back with the Giants in time for Friday's series opener in Kansas City.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Sitting out Tuesday

Bohm is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Milwaukee, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Bohm started the first two games for the Phillies after being activated from the 10-day injured list Sunday, but he'll receive some rest Tuesday. Edmundo Sosa -- who is fresh off the IL himself -- will cover third base for Philadelphia in Bohm's stead.

Giants' Matt Chapman: Day off Tuesday

Chapman is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Baltimore.

It's a rare day off for Chapman, who leads all third basemen with 146 games played this season. Brett Wisely will get a start at the hot corner and bat ninth in the series opener.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Cubs' Isaac Paredes: Tallies three more hits Monday

Paredes went 3-for-4 with two RBI in Monday's 9-2 win over the Athletics.

For the second time in his last four games, Paredes recorded three hits. The infielder is batting a robust .483 over his last eight contests, and it looks like he's settling in with the Cubs after struggling initially following the trade that brought him to Chicago in July. Paredes has become a key cog in his new team's offensive attack lately.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Platooning with Lux

Hernandez will start at second base and bat ninth in Monday's game against Atlanta, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Hernandez will occupy second base for the second time in three games, with both of his starts coming against left-handed pitchers. He appears to have emerged as the preferred platoon partner at the keystone for the left-handed-hitting Gavin Lux.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

    Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Return unclear

Hayes (back) is set to resume light baseball activity, MLB.com reports.

Hayes has been sidelined since Aug. 19 and has been working to strengthen his core for a potential return. He is expected to start playing catch soon, though his return this season appears to be in jeopardy. The team has not officially decided whether Hayes will play again in 2024.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Leaves yard Sunday

Muncy went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over Atlanta.

Muncy blasted a solo home run off John Brebbia in the top of the ninth for the Dodgers' third home run and seventh run of the inning. Muncy now has six homers in 80 plate appearances since returning from a strained oblique in August with four of those home runs coming over the last seven games. He's now up to 15 on the year and has knocked in 40 runs while scoring 39 times in 62 games.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Padres' Donovan Solano: Hits three doubles Saturday

Solano went 4-for-5 with three doubles and a run in Saturday's 8-0 win against the Giants.

Solano batted out of the No. 8 hole and gave the Padres plenty of run-scoring opportunities with his trio of two-baggers, though he was knocked in just once. The veteran infielder has started at first base in three of San Diego's past four contests and appears set to see plenty of playing time at that position with Jake Cronenworth playing second base and Xander Bogaerts shifting to shortstop while Ha-Seong Kim (shoulder) continues to miss time. Solano has earned the uptick in opportunities by slashing .312/.361/.468 over 32 games since the All-Star break.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Reinstated off IL, starting Sunday

The Phillies reinstated Bohm (hand) from the 10-day injured list. He'll start at third base and bat fifth Sunday against the Mets.

Bohm injured his left hand in late August and was placed on the 10-day IL on Sept. 3. He made one rehab appearance on Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday, when he went 2-for-4 with one double. The Phillies evidently saw enough from Bohm on Saturday to bring him back with the big club, and he'll immediately reclaim his spot in the infield rather than being eased back in as the designated hitter.
