Arenado went 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI in a 4-2 win against the Pirates on Wednesday.

Among Arenado's three hits was a third-inning RBI double that was St. Louis' only extra-base hit of the contest. The veteran third baseman batted .167 over his first seven contests in June but has perked up since, putting together a four-game hitting streak during which he has gone 8-for-16. The hot stretch has improved his season slash line to .264/.320/.386.

McMahon went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in a 17-9 loss to the Twins on Wednesday.

McMahon cut the Rockies' deficit to 5-2 in the fourth inning with a 427-foot blast off Pablo Lopez, his 12th homer of the year. The 29-year-old McMahon looks to have broken out of a prolonged slump -- he's gone 4-for-7 with two doubles and two home runs in his last two games after struggling to a .115 average (7-for-61) in his previous 17 contests. Overall, McMahon's now slashing .267/.350/.462 with 36 RBI and 35 runs scored across 288 plate appearances this year.

Candelario went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in a 4-2 win over the Guardians on Wednesday.

Candelario hit a solo home run off Tanner Bibee in the first inning and followed it up with a three-run homer off Bibee to give the Reds a 4-2 lead in the sixth. He then added a single in the eighth. Candelario has been mashing in June, hitting .340 with five homers and 11 RBI through 11 contests. While Candelario's .243 season average still isn't great, he now has 11 home runs and 31 RBI in 248 plate appearances and is hitting in the heart of a hot Reds lineup.

Suarez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels, and Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Blaze Alexander will receive more playing time at third base moving forward, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Wednesday's absence is just Suarez's fourth from the lineup this season, but it appears he'll sit more often going forward due to his .197/.263/.312 slash line through 66 games. Lovullo didn't specify how the playing time will be split, so it's possible Suarez still sees the majority of the action at the hot corner. Regardless, the 32-year-old should no longer be considered the Diamondbacks' everyday third baseman, at least for the time being.

Hernandez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Hernandez will sit for the second consecutive contest after starting the previous four games at third base. The 32-year-old has a .591 OPS in 155 plate appearances this season, and the acquisition of Cavan Biggio -- who is starting at the hot corner Wednesday -- could result in a reduced role for Hernandez.

Solano will start at third base and bat cleanup in Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Though Manny Machado returned to the lineup Monday after missing four straight games with a hip flexor strain, Solano has been able to maintain a spot in the lineup while Machado remains limited to designated hitter duties. Solano will get his sixth consecutive start Wednesday, but once Machado is cleared to resume playing third base, Solano will likely move into the short side of a platoon at designated hitter with David Peralta.

The Nationals recalled Lipscomb from Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday.

As expected, Washington placed Joey Gallo (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move to clear room on the 26-man active roster for Lipscomb. Though he stole 10 bases over 121 plate appearances with the Nationals earlier this season, the 23-year-old slashed just .252/.331/.290 and has been even more unproductive at the Triple-A level (.576 OPS in 98 plate appearances). He could have to settle for a short-side platoon role while he's up with the Nationals, as manager Dave Martinez could first turn to Joey Meneses to replace Gallo as a regular in the lineup.

Ortiz (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Blue Jays.

Ortiz will miss a second straight start with a right hamstring issue. He still needs to undergo testing but is optimistic he won't require an extended absence, per Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Oliver Dunn will fill in for Ortiz at third base Wednesday.

The Nationals plan to call up Lipscomb from Triple-A Rochester ahead of Wednesday's game in Detroit, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

He'll likely join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for first baseman/outfielder Joey Gallo, who is expected to go on the 10-day injured list after straining his hamstring in Tuesday's 5-4 win. Between his previous two stints in the majors this season, Lipscomb slashed an underwhelming .252/.331/.290 over 121 plate appearances, though he contributed 10 stolen bases on 11 attempts. Lipscomb had served mostly as an everyday player at third base when he was up with the Nationals earlier this season, but he could be relegated to a short-side platoon role if Washington elects to have Joey Meneses replace Gallo as a regular in the lineup.

The third baseman had been in a rut prior to Tuesday's game, going 2-for-29 with two runs and no RBI in the past seven games. Still, McMahon owns a .788 OPS with 11 home runs across 66 games this year.
