  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Marlins' Brian Anderson: Rehab assignment begins Thursday

Anderson (back) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Anderson has been sidelined since the beginning of June due to a mild disc bulge in his lumbar spine, but he ramped up his baseball activities over the last few weeks. The 29-year-old will return to game action with the minor-league club, but he'll likely require several rehab games prior to rejoining the Marlins.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Managing shoulder issue

Hayes is being evaluated for a left shoulder injury following Thursday's 8-7 win over the Cubs, Justice delos Santos of MLB.com reports. He went 1-for-5 with his third home run of the season, two RBI and two additional runs in the Pirates' victory.

Hayes appeared to jam his left shoulder while sliding into home during the bottom of the 10th inning Thursday, and a better idea of his diagnosis should be known after he's evaluated by the team doctors. If the 25-year-old is forced to miss additional time, Yu Chang and Diego Castillo are the top candidates for increased playing time at third base.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Out in second straight game

Riley is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Giants, marking his second straight absence.

According to Mark Bowman of MLB.com, Riley finds himself on the bench for the second day in a row not because he's dealing with an injury or an illness, but because manager Brian Snitker wants to give the 25-year-old a proper day off. That was supposed to happen Wednesday, but Riley ended up playing the final two innings of Atlanta's 4-3 win. Riley may still be available in a pinch-hitting capacity Thursday, but Snitker ideally prefers to keep him out of the field for the day.

  • Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW

Reds' Mike Moustakas: Idle versus lefty

Moustakas is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Dodgers.

The lefty-hitting Moustakas will hit the bench for the second game in a row with the Dodgers bringing a lefty (Clayton Kershaw) to the mound. Jonathan India will fill Moustakas' usual spot as the Reds' designated hitter while Matt Reynolds enters the lineup at second base.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Goes yard in win

Arenado went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Brewers.

Arenado has posted four multi-hit games in his last six. He's added three homers, seven RBI and five runs in that span while continuing to bat well in the heart of the Cardinals' order. The third baseman is up to 14 long balls, 48 RBI, 33 runs scored, 16 doubles and a .278/.348/.508 slash line through 67 contests this season.

  • Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA

Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Homers again Wednesday

Wisdom went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI in Wednesday's win over the Pirates.

Wisdom also struck out twice, a reminder of his feast-or-famine profile, but fantasy managers won't complain too much. The third baseman now has home runs in his last two games, giving him a team-high 14 for the season. Wisdom's four RBI also pushed him to 36 for the season, putting him two ahead of Ian Happ for the team lead.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Late addition to lineup

Longoria will start at third base and bat sixth Wednesday against Atlanta.

The 36-year-old was poised to receive Wednesday off, but he'll end up joining the lineup after Luis Gonzalez was scratched with lower-back tightness. Longoria is 2-for-18 with five walks, a run and six strikeouts over his past eight contests.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Receives rest day

Hayes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

He'll sit for the first time since getting a breather in the second half of a doubleheader with the Cardinals on June 14, ending a streak of six straight starts. With Hayes on the bench, Hoy Park will cover third base, while rookie shortstop Oneil Cruz gets a look in the leadoff role.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

    Giants' Evan Longoria: Sitting Wednesday

Longoria will sit Wednesday against Atlanta.

Longoria will get a day off after he went 2-for-7 with a run scored in the first two games of the series. Wilmer Flores will get the start at third base and bat third Wednesday.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Takes seat Wednesday

Riley isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Riley has been an everyday player for Atlanta this season but will get a breather after he went 4-for-12 with a double, two runs, an RBI, a walk and two strikeouts over the last three games. Orlando Arcia is shifting to third base while Phil Gosselin starts at the keystone.
