Matt Chapman 3B | SF
Giants' Matt Chapman: Busy day in loss
Chapman went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a stolen base in a 9-4 loss to the Cardinals on Saturday.
Chapman singled, stole second and scored in the first inning, and then walked and scored again in the third. He later added another single in the eighth. This was Chapman's first multi-hit effort since June 4, but it's encouraging to see him active on the bases considering he missed two games to a hamstring injury June 9 and 10. On the season, the third baseman is hitting .232 with eight home runs, 30 RBI, 47 runs scored and a career-high six stolen bases in 285 at-bats.

Christopher Morel 2B | TB
Cubs' Christopher Morel: Homers, drives in two in win
Morel went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Mets.
Morel hit an RBI single in the first inning and crushed a 446-foot solo home run in the third. Morel's .209 average so far in June is actually his highest in any month this season, and the homer was his fourth in 19 June games. The 24-year-old is batting just .202 to date but does have 14 home runs and 43 RBI over 267 at-bats in 2024.

Nolan Arenado 3B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Dealing with left forearm soreness
Arenado was removed from Saturday's game against the Giants with left forearm discomfort, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Arenado was hit in the right arm by a pitch Wednesday but seems to be battling through some pain in his opposite forearm. Considering the Cardinals were ahead by five runs when Arenado was removed, it very well could be precautionary. Regardless, his status should be monitored ahead of Sunday's series finale.

Nolan Arenado 3B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Back in lineup
Arenado (elbow) is starting at third base and batting fifth Saturday against the Giants, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Arenado suffered a bruised elbow after getting hit by a pitch during Wednesday's contest and said after the game that his goal was to return Saturday. After a few days of rest, the 33-year-old third baseman will achieve his goal and return to face the Giants with former teammate Jordan Hicks on the mound. Arenado has slashed .270/.333/.365 with six RBI across 72 plate appearances since the beginning of June.

Austin Riley 3B | ATL
Braves' Austin Riley: Stays hot Friday
Riley went 2-for-4 with two walks, a solo home run and a second run scored in Friday's 8-1 win over the Yankees.
The 27-year-old slugger has flipped the switch in June. Riley has at least one extra-base hit in six of his last seven games, batting a blistering .545 (12-for-22) over that stretch with four doubles, four homers, nine runs and nine RBI. After a rough, injury-plagued start to the season, the power surge has pushed his slash line up to .251/.324/.420.

Jeimer Candelario 3B | CIN
Reds' Jeimer Candelario: Homers twice in win
Candelario went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Friday's 5-2 win over Boston.
Candelario had been battling tendinitis in the back of his right knee, per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com, but he was ready to go Friday with the help of the Reds' training staff. The knee didn't cool off Candelario's scoring bat. He homered in his first two plate appearances -- the second two-HR game this month -- and is batting .347/.351/.736 over 18 games in June.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Transferred to 60-day IL
The Dodgers shifted Muncy (oblique) to the 60-day injured list Friday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Muncy was placed on the 10-day IL on May 17 due to a Grade 1 right oblique strain. It took him nearly a month to begin taking dry swings, and he has otherwise been limited to fielding grounders and running the bases. As he's still not close to beginning a rehab assignment, the Dodgers opted to move Muncy to the 60-day IL, meaning he won't be eligible to return until after the All-Star break. In a corresponding move, the Dodgers activated Kyle Hurt (shoulder) from the 60-day IL and optioned him to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, per Harris.
