Suarez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 8-6 win over the Cubs.

The slugger came into the game having gone 0-for-23 over his prior six games, but Suarez snapped the skid with a fourth-inning blast off Jake Arrieta. His shaky defensive adjustment to playing shortstop may be affecting him at the plate, and Suarez finishes April with a woeful .130 batting average, four homers and nine RBI through 24 games.

Arenado went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI in Friday's 7-3 win over the Pirates.

Arenado had gone just 1-for-7 with a pair of strikeouts in the last two games, but he put the Cardinals on the board with RBI doubles in each of his first two at-bats Friday. The 30-year-old is hitting .255 with four home runs, 15 RBI and 10 runs to begin the season.

Newman went 2-for-4 with a run and one RBI in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Cardinals.

The Pirates were unable to record any extra-base hits in Friday's contest, but Newman put the team on the board with a two-out single in the bottom of the fourth inning. Newman is now hitting .205 with a home run, six RBI and six runs this season.

Vosler was optioned to the Giants' alternate training site Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Vosler spent just under a week on the major-league roster and went 2-for-8 with a double, two runs, one RBI and a stolen base in four games. Steven Duggar was recalled in a corresponding move.

Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Wednesday that Hayes (wrist) is not dealing with a new injury after his examination Friday, DK Pittsburgh Sports reports.

"Very positive news [from] the outcome of the exam and subsequent diagnostics," Tomczyk said. "We're not going to do the exact same things that we did before, but there will be some gradual progression into full baseball activities." The team is letting Hayes determine when he's ready to start playing catch or fielding grounders. While the 24-year-old won't likely return for at least several more days, fantasy managers have to be pleased that his absence isn't expected to linger too much longer.

Riley went 4-for-5 with a double, a two-run homer and a second run scored in Wednesday's 10-0 rout of the Cubs.

The third baseman was at the forefront of the charge for Atlanta, taking Kyle Hendricks deep in the first inning. Riley is suddenly red hot, hitting .462 (12-for-26) over his last nine games with all three of his homers on the season. Perhaps most impressively, he has a strong 6:6 BB:K over that stretch. If the 24-year-old continues to control the strike zone, a breakout campaign should follow.

Machado went 2-for-5 with a triple and three RBI in a win over Arizona on Wednesday.

The third baseman came to the plate with the bases loaded in the fifth inning and tripled in three runs to break the game open for San Diego. The three-bagger was Machado's first of the campaign and accounted for his second three-RBI performance. He is slashing .250/.348/.385 across 112 plate appearances.

Senzel went 4-for-4 in Wednesday's loss against the Dodgers.

The Reds struggled massively on offense Wednesday and only mustered seven hits against the Dodgers' pitching staff, but Senzel was responsible for four of those knocks. The centerfielder snapped a three-game hitless streak, but he has been extremely inconsistent and has gone just 7-for-43 (.162) over his last 15 games.

Anderson (oblique) is expected to return to the lineup around when he is first eligible, Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald reports.

Saturday is the earliest possible date for Anderson's activation from the IL, but with the Marlins getting an off day Monday, a more cautious approach would see him back on the field Tuesday against the Diamondbacks. The 27-year-old has had a sluggish start at the plate, slashing .200/.262/.300 with one homer and five RBI through 17 games.

McMahon went 1-for-4 with a walk, a two-run home run and two runs scored Tuesday against the Giants.

McMahon delivered a game-winning home run in the 10th inning, his eighth long ball of the campaign. While his power production early on has stood out, McMahon has more quietly cut his strikeout rate from a career mark of 30.1 percent to 22.8 percent through 92 plate appearances this season.
