  • Carter Kieboom 3B | CLE

Nationals' Carter Kieboom: Begins rehab assignment Friday

Kieboom (hamstring) went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI in the first game of his rehab stint with the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Nationals on Friday.

This is the first game action Kieboom has gotten since getting hurt back in May. It's a bit unsettling that it took this long for him to begin a rehab assignment given that his initial timeline for a return suggested he would only miss a few weeks, but it's good to see that he progressed nonetheless. Once he completes some rehab games with the Rookie-league squad, Kieboom will head back to Low-A Hagerstown to continue his development.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Cranks 21st homer Thursday

Rendon went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in Thursday's shellacking of the Brewers.

His magnificent July continues, as the 27-year-old now has a .406/.519/.750 slash line on the month with five homers, 12 runs and 18 RBI in 19 games. It's taken him a few seasons, but a healthy Rendon has now emerged as one of baseball's elite third basemen.

  • Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL

Dodgers' Kyle Farmer: To be promoted by Dodgers

Farmer was promoted from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to this weekend's series against the Giants, FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports.

The Dodgers have yet to announce a corresponding move, but the fact remains that Farmer is set to make his first foray into the majors. Farmer adds catching depth and a right-handed bat off the bench for Los Angeles. Over 177 at-bats at Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, Farmer has slashed .316/.363/.503 with 20 extra-base hits.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Slugs 23rd homer Wednesday

Arenado went 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Wednesday's 10-5 loss to the Cardinals.

The major-league RBI leader is now slashing .404/.429/.872 with six homers, 13 runs scored and 19 driven in since the All-Star break. Arenado is on pace to fall short of his third straight 40-HR campaign, but otherwise the 26-year-old is headed for another stellar season.

  • Carlos Asuaje 3B | LAD

Padres' Carlos Asuaje: Rides pine against lefty Wednesday

Asuaje is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Mets.

Asuaje has hits in four of his last five starts, but he'll head to the bench for a night off with the left-handed Steven Matz taking the hill for New York. Jose Pirela will move to second base to replace him while Jabari Blast rounds out the lineup by filling the void in left field.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: Raking since promotion to Double-A

Senzel, 22, is batting .321/.379/.481 with three home runs, 16 RBI and one steal in 28 games since being promoted to Double-A Pensacola.

One of the top hitting prospects in baseball continues to shine despite the bump in levels. He doesn't appear to have elite power or speed, but Senzel should still be able to muster double-digit production in both of those categories. His greatest asset is his ability to handle the bat, as he has hit over .300 at every level of full-season ball thus far.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Extends RBI lead with three Sunday

Arenado went 2-for-5 with three RBI and a run in Sunday's 13-3 win over the Pirates.

Arenado drove his RBI total up to a league-leading 86 thanks to timely hitting. He plated two runs on a single in the third inning, then drove in one more before coming around to score himself in a seven-run sixth. Fifty-four of Arenado's RBI have come at hitter-friendly Coors Field, even though he has played three more games on the road.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Socks 22nd homer Friday

Arenado went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Friday's 13-5 loss to the Pirates.

He is completely locked in at the plate right now, and even the All-Star break didn't manage to derail Arenado's momentum. Over his last nine games, the 26-year-old is slashing an absurd .425/.439/1.025 with seven homers, 13 runs and 19 RBI.

  • Carlos Asuaje 3B | LAD

Padres' Carlos Asuaje: Retreats to bench Thursday

Asuaje is not in the lineup Thursday against the Giants, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Asuaje has been a pleasant surprise for the Padres this season, batting .312 in the big leagues, but he'll head to the bench with southpaw Madison Bumgarner taking the hill for San Francisco on Thursday. Jose Pirela will move to the infield to replace him while Matt Szczur, Jabari Blash and Hunter Renfroe hold down the fort in the outfield.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Hits pair of solo homers

Suarez went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs in Thursday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Suarez accounted for all of the Reds' offense in a 12-2 blowout. The 26-year-old was in a bad way at the plate throughout most of June (.190 average, two homers), but he seems to be heating up again with five extra-base hits in his last three games. His overall numbers still look strong despite the recent funk -- his .360 OBP represents a dramatic improvement from a year ago (.317).
