Ramirez is not in the lineup Sunday against the Rays.

Ramirez started the past three games after missing a couple contests while managing elbow soreness, and he'll receive the day off Sunday. It's not a surprise to see the 28-year-old back on the bench, as manager Terry Francona indicated the third baseman is expected to require more maintenance days during the second half to help deal with the issue. Ernie Clement will cover the hot corner in the series finale.

Suarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

He'll sit for the first time in the second half after falling into a 3-for-27 funk at the plate over his last seven starts. The slump has dropped Suarez's season-long slash line to .172/.257/.361, with the lowly batting average placing him last in the majors among all qualified hitters. Mike Freeman will fill in for Suarez at the hot corner.

Candelario went 1-for-3 with two walks and a three-run home run in Saturday's 9-8 loss to the Royals.

He took Carlos Hernandez deep in the third inning, helping stake the Tigers to a 5-0 lead that Casey Mize and the bullpen couldn't make stick. Candelario hasn't had the breakout some people anticipated after his strong 2020 performance, but he may be finding that form again -- he's hit safely in seven straight games, batting .375 (9-for-24) with two of his seven homers on the year.

Riley went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Saturday's win over the Phillies.

Riley snapped a six-game homer drought with a two-run shot in the eighth inning when the game was already decided, but the noteworthy thing about the long ball is that he blasted that rocket off shortstop Ronald Torreyes, who pitched the eighth when the game was all but over. It was Riley's 16th long ball of the campaign and he has gone yard three times already this month.

Bregman (quadriceps) is unlikely to return during the Astros' upcoming road trip, with runs from July 26 through Aug. 4, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Bregman hasn't played since mid-June while he deals with a strained left quadriceps. The given timeline means he's still nearly two weeks away from returning to the active roster. He may need a small handful of rehab games before he's cleared to return given the length of his absence.

Anderson (shoulder) will be reinstated from the 60-day injured list before Saturday's game against the Padres, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

The third baseman, having been sidelined since May 24 with a dislocated left shoulder, returns to the Marlins on his first day of eligibility. Before the injury, Anderson hit .250 with three home runs, 11 RBI and 12 walks in 36 games. The Marlins have yet to announce who will be removed from the 40-man roster to clear a space for Anderson.

The Nationals recalled Kieboom from Triple-A Rochester on Saturday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

The infielder has hit .236/.376/.385 with five home runs, 23 RBI and 26 walks in 44 minor-league games this season. Kieboom has appeared in only two games with the Nationals this season, both of which were in the first week of the season. Jordy Mercer (calf) was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Peterson isn't in the lineup Saturday against the White Sox.

The Brewers are facing left-hander Carlos Rodon on Saturday, so Peterson will be excluded from the lineup for the third time in the last four games. Rowdy Tellez will start at first base and bat seventh.

The Rays optioned Walls to Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

The rookie has contributed little offensively of late, going 1-for-15 with a pair of walks since the All-Star break. With a bullpen game Saturday, Tampa Bay needed additional pitching depth, getting it by recalling Sean Poppen in a corresponding move. Walls' stellar defense should have him back with the big club sooner rather than later.

Henderson has hit .313 with three homers and four steals across his last 16 games for High-A Aberdeen.

After batting .032 in his first 11 games after being promoted, Henderson has turned things around, lifting his batting line with Aberdeen to .221/.353/.358. His 35.3 percent strikeout rate in High-A represents cause for concern, but when Henderson does make contact, he hits the ball hard. He also just turned 20 last month, so there's plenty of time for Henderson to refine his plate discipline. It's worth noting that Henderson has spent more time at third base than shortstop since his promotion, and considering his size -- 6-foot-2, 210 pounds -- he's probably a better fit at the hot corner.
