  • Cubs' Jeimer Candelario: Not starting Sunday

Candelario is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Since being traded to the Cubs on July 31, Candelario has started in every game. With the Cubs in August, the infielder is slashing .425/.489/.625 in 45 plate appearances. Sunday will just be a rest day for the 29-year-old with Nick Madrigal getting the start at third.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Remains out Sunday

LeMahieu (calf) isn't in the Yankees' lineup Sunday against Miami.

LeMahieu's sore right calf will keep him out of the lineup for a fifth consecutive game Sunday, but the veteran third baseman will be available off the bench and could return to the lineup Monday against Atlanta, per Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will continue to start at third base, allowing Billy McKinney to man left field.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Sitting Sunday

Devers isn't in the Red Sox's lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

After going 3-for-7 through the first two games of the series, Devers will get a day off for the first time since mid-July. Luis Urias will shift over to third base in Devers' absence, allowing Pablo Reyes to start at second.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Belts homer in loss

Moncada went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss to the Brewers.

Moncada tagged Brandon Woodruff for a solo shot to center field in the sixth inning, marking his first homer since returning from a lengthy stay on the injured list July 25. The third baseman has seen his power drop off since going deep 25 times in 2019, as he has since topped out at 14 homers over 144 contests in 2021. With just four long balls and one stolen base across 54 games, Moncada has been waiver-wire fodder in most fantasy formats this season.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Racks up three hits in win

Arenado went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Royals.

Arenado's bat has been hot in August -- he's gone 15-for-42 (.357) during his 10-game hitting streak that spans the whole month. The third baseman had slumped briefly in late July, but he's back up to a .287/.335/.511 slash line with 24 home runs, 82 RBI, 56 runs scored, two stolen bases, 22 doubles and two triples through 112 contests this season.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Getting breather Saturday

Urias is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Mariners, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Urias will get a day off after he went 2-for-7 with a triple and a run scored while starting the last two games following a one-game absence with a heel injury. Jordan Westburg will take over at third base and bat eighth against Seattle.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Day off Saturday

Henderson is not in the starting lineup Saturday against the Mariners, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Henderson will take a seat after he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts during the series opener Friday. Jorge Mateo will draw the start at shortstop and bat ninth versus Seattle.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Sitting Saturday

Garcia (upper body) will be on the bench for Saturday's game against the Cardinals.

Garcia left Friday's game against the Cardinals with upper-body discomfort, and he'll remain sidelined Saturday. The exact nature and severity of his injury remain unclear, but the Royals have an off day scheduled for Sunday, so he'll get at least two days to rest. Matt Duffy will handle third base in his absence.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Diamondbacks' Jace Peterson: Sitting versus lefty

Peterson isn't in the Diamondbacks' lineup Saturday against the Padres, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Left-hander Rich Hill will take the mound for San Diego, forcing the lefty-hitting Peterson to the bench for the start of Saturday's game. Buddy Kennedy will start at third base and bat sixth while Peterson sits.

  • Joe Perez 3B | PIT

Pirates' Joe Perez: Joins up with Bucs

Perez signed a minor-league contract with the Pirates on Friday.

The 23-year-old third baseman was dumped from Houston's 40-man roster and ultimately released a week later, but he quickly caught on with a new organization. Perez is expected to report to Triple-A Indianapolis and should handle a near-everyday role with the Pirates' top affiliate. Perez slashed .255/.328/.399 with 10 home runs and three stolen bases in 357 plate appearances at Triple-A Sugar Land this season prior to his release.
