Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Swats 20th long ball
O'Hoppe went 4-for-4 with a solo home run, two doubles and two total runs in Saturday's loss to the Astros.
Though the Angels were blown out, O'Hoppe had an impressive effort at the plate, recording his third game of at least four hits this season. This was the first time he's posted three extra-base knocks in a contest, and among his hits was a solo shot in the fourth inning that marked his 20th homer of the campaign. Among catchers, only Cal Raleigh, Shea Langeliers, Salvador Perez and William Contreras have hit more home runs than O'Hoppe this season.

Astros' Victor Caratini: Drives in three runs Saturday
Caratini went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run and a walk against the Angels in Saturday's 10-4 victory.
Caratini blew the game open for Houston in the third inning, belting a three-run shot off Angels starter Reid Detmers to increase the Astros' lead to 6-1. It was the third straight start for Caratini, who played first base Saturday after serving as Houston's catcher Thursday and Friday. Caratini is batting .289 (13-for-45) with five RBI through 15 games in September.

Wong is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Twins, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
Wong will give way to Danny Jansen behind the plate for the second time in three games. Wong is 16-for-51 (.314) in September with a home run, a stolen base and seven doubles.

Rogers isn't in Detroit's lineup for Saturday's game against Baltimore, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
After striking out in all three of his at-bats during Friday's series opener, Rogers will take a seat Saturday while Dillon Dingler catches for Reese Olson, batting eighth.

Orioles' James McCann: Goes deep twice
McCann went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI in Friday's win against the Tigers.
McCann knocked a two-run shot in the fourth inning and then capped off Baltimore's seven-run night with a solo shot in the sixth. He's hit four home runs over his last 11 appearances dating back to Aug. 20. The veteran catcher owns a .645 OPS with 16 extra-base hits through 221 plate appearances this season.

Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Day off Friday
O'Hoppe is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Houston, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
O'Hoppe wore the golden sombrero in Thursday's loss to the Astros, striking out in all four of his plate appearances, so he'll get a breather in this one. Matt Thaiss is doing the catching for the Angels and will bat fifth.
