  • Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Getting day off

Langeliers is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Mariners.

Langeliers will get a breather for Wednesday's afternoon tilt after starting each of the last three games. Tyler Soderstrom will do the catching for Joey Estes.

  • Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Laces triple in loss

Langeliers went 1-for-3 with an RBI triple, a walk and a run in a loss to the Mariners on Tuesday.

Langeliers drove home the Athletics' first run of the night in the seventh inning with his timely three-bagger, which scored Aledmys Diaz. The 25-year-old has established a new personal best with four triples overall in 2023 after recording one during his first taste of the big leagues in 2022, and he's added 37 additional extra-base hits this season in the form of 17 doubles and 20 home runs. That's helped coax his slugging percentage over the .400 mark (.402), but a .202 average and .265 OBP have dragged down his slash line overall.

  • Bo Naylor C | CLE

Guardians' Bo Naylor: Gets rest day

Naylor is out of the lineup Wednesday versus the Royals.

Naylor was behind the plate Tuesday night, so he will get a breather for Wednesday's day game. The catcher went 2-for-8 with a home run in the first two games of the series against the Royals. In his place, Cam Gallagher will start and bat ninth.

  • Connor Wong C | BOS

Red Sox's Connor Wong: Resting Wednesday

Wong is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Rangers.

Wong is hitting .205 with one home run, five runs and three RBI in 11 September games. Reese McGuire is starting behind the dish and batting eighth.

  • Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Gets breather Tuesday

Rutschman isn't in the Orioles' lineup Tuesday versus Houston, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Despite collecting five hits across his last three games, Rutschman will take a seat to begin Tuesday's contest. James McCann will instead start behind the plate and bat eighth.

  • Astros' Martin Maldonado: Receives Tuesday off

Maldonado is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Baltimore.

Maldonado started the previous two games and will head to the bench for Tuesday's contest. The veteran backstop has a .924 OPS over his last nine games but still has a .191/.2612/.347 slash line for the campaign. Yainer Diaz will take over behind the plate and bat seventh.

  • Austin Wells C | NYY

Yankees' Austin Wells: Taking seat Tuesday

Wells is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Blue Jays.

It's a routine day off for Wells, who had caught each of the last two contests. Kyle Higashioka will be behind the plate for Clarke Schmidt.

  • Twins' Christian Vazquez: Sitting out Tuesday

Vazquez is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Cincinnati.

Vazquez started Monday's series opener but will begin this one on the bench. Ryan Jeffers will do the catching for Kenta Maeda.

  • Bo Naylor C | CLE

Guardians' Bo Naylor: Notches fifth steal

Naylor went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, one RBI and a stolen base in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Royals.

Naylor has five steals this season, four of which have come in his last eight games. In that span, he's gone 9-for-28 (.321) with a 6:5 BB:K. The improved plate discipline and stronger hitting has given Cleveland fans and fantasy managers alike a glimpse of Naylor's future potential. He's at a modest .233/.329/.433 slash line with eight home runs, 25 RBI and 25 runs scored over 60 contests this season, but he could be a fantasy force in the coming years if he can continue to grow his hitting in the majors.

  • Jake Rogers C | DET

Tigers' Jake Rogers: Goes yard again

Rogers went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Dodgers.

Rogers' fifth-inning blast was all the run production the Tigers could muster against Lance Lynn and the Dodgers' bullpen. With four homers over his last three games, Rogers is locked in at the plate -- he's also hit safely in his last six contests. He's the eighth catcher to reach the 20-homer mark this season, doubling his total from the last two years combined. The 28-year-old is slashing .221/.288/.451 with 47 RBI, 46 runs scored and a stolen base through 100 contests.
