Jake Rogers C | DET
Tigers' Jake Rogers: Goes deep Sunday
Rogers went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Rays.
Rogers provided all the offense for a Detroit team that has been stagnant at the plate so far this season. The catcher has some pop, and if the Tigers continue to struggle to score runs, it's possible that Rogers earns more playing time moving forward. For now, he's the clear backup to Eric Haase, who figures to reenter the lineup Monday.

Ryan Jeffers C | MIN
Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Two hits in season debut
Jeffers went 2-for-5 with two RBI in Sunday's 7-4 victory over the Royals.
Jeffers got his first start of the season and picked up where he left off from a hot spring training during which he hit three home runs with a .891 OPS. Jeffers will serve as the backup to Christian Vazquez but could get close to half the playing time.

Yainer Diaz C | HOU
Astros' Yainer Diaz: Sitting out Sunday
Diaz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
Diaz will sit for the second time in four games after previously logging one start apiece at catcher and designated hitter and going hitless with one walk between those two contests. Martin Maldonado is locked in as Houston's primary backstop, but Diaz and Corey Julks could vie for regular reps out of the DH spot while Michael Brantley (shoulder) is on the shelf.

Jake Rogers C | DET
Tigers' Jake Rogers: Making first 2023 start
Rogers is starting at catcher and batting ninth in Sunday's game against the Rays.
Eric Haase started the first two games of the season behind the plate, but he'll give way to Rogers on Sunday. The latter had a strong spring and could provide a little bit of pop from the catcher position, though he's unlikely to see enough playing time to be much of a fantasy factor at the moment.

Christian Vazquez C | HOU
Twins' Christian Vazquez: Gets breather Sunday
Vazquez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.
Vazquez caught both of the Twins' first two games of the season, registering a pair of two-hit games. He remains atop the Twins' depth chart at catcher, though he'll get a breather Sunday with Ryan Jeffers getting a turn behind the dish in the series finale.
-
Jose Trevino C | CIN
Yankees' Jose Trevino: Sitting Sunday
Trevino is not in the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Giants, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
Trevino was behind the plate for the Yankees' first two games of the season but will receive a breather Sunday after he went 1-for-6 with a run scored. Kyle Higashioka will start at catcher and bat eighth in the series finale against San Francisco.
-
Reese McGuire C | CHW
Red Sox's Reese McGuire: Resting Sunday
McGuire is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
McGuire will get a day off for the first time in the young season after he started behind the plate in both of Boston's first two games while going 1-for-6 at the dish. The Orioles were successful on 10 of 10 stolen base attempts off McGuire, while the staff ERA was 9.00. Connor Wong will catch for starting pitcher Tanner Houck in the series finale.
-
Eric Haase C | SF
Tigers' Eric Haase: Takes seat Sunday
Haase is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.
Haase will be getting his first breather of the 2023 season after he started behind the dish in both of the Tigers' first two contests while going hitless across eight plate appearances. Jake Rogers will step in at catcher in the series finale, forming a battery with starting pitcher Joey Wentz.

Mitch Garver DH | SEA
Rangers' Mitch Garver: Goes yard twice in big win
Garver went 2-for-4 with a walk, two home runs, a third run scored and six RBI in Saturday's 16-3 rout of the Phillies.
After slugging a three-run shot in the fifth inning off Yunior Marte, Garver did it again in the seventh, this time off Seranthony Dominguez. The power display isn't a surprise, as Garver hit 23 homers in 122 games over the last two seasons with a .233/.330/.463 slash line, but the more important development for his fantasy value was the fact that he was able to play a full game behind the plate Saturday. If the 32-year-old regains catcher eligibility after being limited to 14 games at the position last year due to a forearm injury, his offensive profile becomes a lot more palatable.

Seby Zavala C | LAD
White Sox's Seby Zavala: Hits two-run homer
Zavala went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Saturday's loss to the Astros.
Zavala got his first start of the year in the White Sox's third game and made the most of it, homering off Jose Urquidy in the fourth inning. He should continue to serve as the White Sox's backup catcher unless Yasmani Grandal gets injured.
