Hector Sanchez C | DET
Padres' Hector Sanchez: Lands on 10-day DL
Sanchez (foot) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday.
Sanchez was lifted early from Friday's game against the Dodgers with a right foot contusion after fouling a ball off his foot. Though X-rays came back negative, the backstop will still require a trip to the disabled list in order to allow his foot ample time to heal. Luis Torrens will act as the team's primary reserve catcher in Sanchez's absence.

Cameron Rupp C | MIN
Phillies' Cameron Rupp: Heads to bench Sunday
Rupp is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals, Stephen Gross of The Morning Call reports.
Despite his collection of five hits (including two home runs) over his past three contests, Rupp will head to the bench Sunday in favor of backup catcher Andrew Knapp. The starter should be back in the lineup for the Phillies' next game Tuesday against the Mariners.

J.T. Realmuto C | PHI
Marlins' J.T. Realmuto: Gets day off Sunday
Realmuto is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
After starting the Marlins' past six games, Realmuto will head to the bench Sunday for what appears to be a standard day of rest. Fellow backstop A.J. Ellis will take over starting catching duties in his absence. Expect Realmuto to be back in the lineup Monday against the Cardinals.

Cameron Rupp C | MIN
Phillies' Cameron Rupp: Crushes third home run Saturday
Rupp went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Saturday's loss to the Nationals.
Rupp launched his third homer of the year while driving in the only two runs the Phillies were able to score in a losing effort. He's now left the yard in two of his last three games, and his .247/.349/.466 slash line makes him a solid fantasy option at catcher.

Yasmani Grandal C | PIT
Dodgers' Yasmani Grandal: Takes seat Saturday
Grandal is not in the lineup Saturday against the Padres, David Vassegh of 570 LA Sports reports.
Grandal has collected hits in back-to-back games, but he'll head to the bench as Austin Barnes gets the start behind the dish. He's slashing just .214/.302/.369 with three homers through 26 games this season.

Hector Sanchez C | DET
Padres' Hector Sanchez: Leaves game with foot injury
Sanchez (foot) was removed from Friday's loss to the Dodgers after taking a foul tip off of his foot. The injury is being reported as a foot contusion, Dennis Lin of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
X-rays came back negative on the veteran catcher, but he was seen on crutches after the game and will be re-evaluated Saturday. Sanchez has been backing up Austin Hedges behind the dish, and with a third catcher on the roster, he could avoid a trip to the disabled list if the injury is considered minor.

Willson Contreras 1B | BOS
Cubs' Willson Contreras: Fine after collision Friday
Contreras says he is alright after being involved in a scary collision during Friday's game against the Yankees, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.
Despite remaining down for several moments, Contreras stayed in the game after colliding with Starlin Castro, who was attempting to score on a sacrifice fly during the sixth inning. Fortunately, the 24-year-old catcher says he's perfectly fine, so he should be in line to resume backstop duties as the weekend series continues.

Austin Hedges C | CLE
Padres' Austin Hedges: Gets day off Friday
Hedges is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers.
Hedges will receive a normal off day while the switch-hitting Hector Sanchez will take his spot behind the plate. The 24-year-old catcher has been solid defensively this season, but he's also struggled with the bat, slashing .182/.232/.420 to go along with six home runs in 96 plate appearances.

Travis d'Arnaud C | LAA
Mets' Travis d'Arnaud: Heads to DL
D'Arnaud was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a bone bruise in his wrist, Marc Carig of Newsweek reports.
D'Arnaud's injury stems from when he aggravated a previous wrist issue Tuesday. There has not been a timetable established for when he's expected to return. The Mets are hoping that d'Arnaud's injury does not end up sapping any power when he returns like wrist injuries have sometimes been known to do.
