Realmuto went 3-for-6 with a triple, two RBI and a run against the Mets on Saturday.

He got to hit leadoff with Dee Gordon drawing a day off, and Realmuto kept his season-opening hot streak going with his fourth consecutive multi-hit game. Indeed, the young catcher's early returns have been fantastic -- he's put up four extra-base hits among his 10 total knocks, and he's got six RBI and runs apiece. Realmuto appears poised to outdo last year's already solid numbers, which means he should be a rock-solid starting catcher in just about any format.

Realmuto will lead off Saturday against the Mets, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

After getting the day off Friday, Realmuto is back behind the dish Saturday while also sliding up to fill in for Dee Gordon at the top of the order. Manager Don Mattingly will look to ride the 26-year-old's scorching start to the season, as Realmuto is 7-for-12 with two homers and four RBI in the season's first week.

Realmuto is not in the lineup Friday against the Mets, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.

The 26-year-old catcher has been white hot to begin the season, putting up a 1.810 OPS through the first three games of the campaign. He'll head to the bench for a normal day of rest and cede the start to A.J. Ellis. Realmuto should be back in the lineup Saturday given his success at the plate.

D'Arnaud is not in the lineup Friday against the Marlins.

The 28-year-old has hit safely in each of the games he's started this season, but he'll get a regular night off to begin New York's three-game weekend series. Rene Rivera will set up behind the dish in d'Arnaud's stead.

Sanchez (concussion) was placed on the 7-day disabled list Friday.

The Padres' backup catcher left Thursday's contest prematurely after being hit with a foul ball, and it seems like his concussion symptoms are bad enough to warrant a trip to the DL. To fill his spot on the roster, Jabari Blash was summoned to the big leagues.

Rupp is in the Phillies' lineup Friday against the Nationals, sitting behind the plate and batting seventh.

Rupp gave way to Andrew Knapp on Thursday but resumes his starting gig with hopes of improving his 1-for-7 start to 2017.

D'Arnaud went 1-for-3 with a two-run double in the Mets' 6-2 victory over the Braves on Thursday.

The Mets had trouble with Atlanta starter Jaime Garcia in the early going, but d'Arnaud managed to open the scoring for the Mets by jabbing an 0-1 offering from the lefty into center field to score a pair. The 28-year-old has gotten on base in each contest this season, and he should continue to get a good number of innings behind the dish as long as he maintains his productivity at the plate.

Sanchez (head) is experiencing concussion-like symptoms, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

The Padres had downplayed the severity of the injury sustained by Sanchez during Thursday's game, but it seems as if their backup catcher's status may not be as good as was initially thought. Sanchez is scheduled to be evaluated again Friday, so more specific information regarding his status should be available soon.

Sanchez felt dizzy after being hit by a foul ball and was pulled from Thursday's game as a precautionary measure, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Sanchez is the Padres' backup catcher, so it's entirely possible that he would be absent from the lineup for the next couple days, even if he hadn't been hit by an arrant foul ball Thursday. However, until the club is certain that he's at full health, consider him day-to-day.
