  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Remains idle Monday

Realmuto (knee) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.

Realmuto will miss out on a third consecutive start while he remains day-to-day with a left knee contusion, which stemmed from a fouling a ball off himself in the second inning of Friday's 16-2 win over the Marlins. Garrett Stubbs will get a turn behind the plate Monday in place of Realmuto.

  • Luke Maile C | KC

Reds' Luke Maile: Back on bench Monday

Maile is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Atlanta.

Maile picked up a start in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Mets while top backstop Tyler Stephenson received a breather, but Stephenson will be back behind the plate Monday. Since being activated from the 10-day injured list Aug. 2, Maile has started just seven times while going 2-for-21 at the dish.

  • Curt Casali C | ATL

Giants' Curt Casali: Swats homer Sunday

Casali went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Padres.

Casali provided what ended up being a crucial home run after going yard against Alek Jacob in the sixth to put the Giants up 7-1 in a game that finished 7-6. It was the first home run of the season for the 35-year-old backstop and his first hit since Aug. 20. He's made just two starts since Patrick Bailey returned from the injured list at the end of August and is now slashing .178/.282/.233 with six RBI, 11 runs and an 11:19 BB:K in 105 plate appearances this year.

  • Will Smith C | LAD

Dodgers' Will Smith: Three hits Sunday

Smith went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Guardians.

Smith posted his second three-hit effort since the All-Star break. His double Sunday was just his second extra-base hit since Aug. 21. He does have three multi-hit games over his last five starts but is slashing just .185/.282/.266 with two homers, 14 RBI, 16 runs and a 13:35 BB:K in 142 plate appearances since the All-Star break.

  • Ivan Herrera C | STL

Cardinals' Ivan Herrera: Records fifth steal

Herrera went 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 10-4 loss to the Mariners.

Herrera was the only Cardinal with multiple hits in the contest. The catcher has gone 3-for-12 with one RBI and four runs scored over four games in September. Herrera has operated as the No. 2 catcher behind Pedro Pages since Willson Contreras (finger) landed on the injured list. Herrera has a .281/.350/.382 slash line, three home runs, five steals, 22 RBI and 30 runs scored across 223 plate appearances this season.

  • Pirates' Endy Rodriguez: Rehab games on tap

Pirates general manager Ben Cherington said Sunday that Rodriguez (elbow) will report to Double-A Altoona on Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Rodriguez has progressed well in his rehab from Tommy John surgery in December, and he'll be able to see game action in the minors after previously being fully ruled out for 2024. The 24-year-old is expected to see most of his playing time at first base and designated hitter, but he'll also see some time behind the plate. Rodriguez still isn't expected to see action with the Pirates before the end of the campaign, but he's setting up to enter the offseason in a strong position heading into 2025.

  • Giants' Patrick Bailey: Receiving Sunday off

Bailey is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Bailey started the previous three games and will receive a breather in Sunday's series finale. Curt Casali will step in behind the plate to catch for righty Spencer Bivens.

  • Pedro Pages C | STL

Cardinals' Pedro Pages: Resting up Sunday

Pages is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

Pages appears to be the Cardinals' preferred catching option at the moment, as he had started in four of the previous five contests. He'll get a chance to rest in Sunday's matinee, however, as Ivan Herrera gets a turn behind the plate.

  • Henry Davis RF | PIT

Pirates' Henry Davis: Out with hand injury

The Pirates placed Davis on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to left hand inflammation, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

It's unclear when exactly Davis suffered the injury, but he hasn't seen the field since going 0-for-3 with a strikeout Wednesday against the Cubs. Joey Bart and Yasmani Grandal will continue to split catching duties for the Pirates.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Not in Sunday's lineup

Realmuto (knee) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

The 33-year-old said Sunday his bruised left knee is feeling much better and that he could rejoin the lineup in a day or two, per Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer, but he's sitting for the second straight day. Aramis Garcia will receive the start behind the plate, and Realmuto should continue to be considered day-to-day.
