Hernandez will be promoted from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday, Jeremiah Geiger of Locked on Marlins reports.

Hernandez was once a notable prospect in the Rays system, but he has become a bat-first right-handed hitter who made it to minor-league free agency in 2024. The 25-year-old left fielder/designated hitter has slashed .220/.319/.454 with nine home runs, six steals and a 35 percent strikeout rate in 41 games at Triple-A this season.

Murphy went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two walks in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader with the Phillies.

Murphy got Atlanta on the board in the sixth inning with an RBI single before cutting the deficit to 4-3 with a 412-foot solo blast off Matt Strahm in the eighth, his ninth homer this season. It was a much-needed effort from the 30-year-old catcher, who'd gone just 1-for-13 over his previous five games while splitting catching duties with Drake Baldwin. Overall, Murphy's slashing .228/.333/.500 with 20 RBI and 14 runs scored across 132 plate appearances this season.

Marchan went 1-for-2 with a homer, three RBI and an additional run scored in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader with Atlanta.

Marchan opened the scoring Thursday with his first home run of the season, a two-run shot off AJ Smith-Shawver (elbow) in the third inning. Marchan would later drive in what would prove to be the game-winning run in the eighth, when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The 26-year-old backstop has seen limited playing time behind J.T. Realmuto this season, slashing just .152/.317/.242 with four runs scored and five RBI across 41 plate appearances.

Baldwin is out of the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Phillies.

With a .337 batting average and .912 OPS in 105 plate appearances on the season, Baldwin has emerged as Atlanta's preferred option behind the plate, despite the fact that Sean Murphy is in the third year of a six-year, $73 million extension and has performed well in his own right (.783 OPS) through the first two months of the campaign. Atlanta manager Brian Snitker seems to have settled on a platoon between the two backstops, so the left-handed-hitting Baldwin will give way to the right-handed-hitting Murphy behind the plate while southpaw Cristopher Sanchez takes the hill for the Phillies in Game 1. Baldwin will re-enter the lineup for the nightcap to face off against right-hander Zack Wheeler.

Realmuto is out of the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader versus Atlanta.

Rafael Marchan will handle catching duties for the first game of the day, but Realmuto should be back behind the dish for the nightcap, when he'll form a battery with right-hander Zack Wheeler. Realmuto had started in each of the Phillies' previous four games and went 2-for-17 at the plate, bringing his batting average down to a career-low .228 for the season.

Stephenson went 3-for-4 in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to Kansas City.

Stephenson recorded his second three-hit effort in the last three games and has hit safely in four of the last five. He's 9-for-22 (.409) with four extra-base hits during that span, which increased his average 70 points from a season-low .173 to .243.

Davis went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored Wednesday against Arizona.

Davis homered Tuesday after entering the game following Joey Bart's (concussion) departure and slugged a two-run home run. He then started Wednesday and delivered an RBI single in the second inning while also recording his third multi-hit performance in his last five appearances. Davis could get more consistent run in the absence of Bart, though Endy Rodriguez (finger) is also back from the injured list.

Ramirez went 4-for-5 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-8 win over the Padres.

Ramirez launched a solo home run in the third inning and later ignited the Marlins' comeback with a two-run single in the eighth that put them ahead 9-8. It was a career day for the rookie, as he set personal bests with four RBI and four hits. On the season, he's slashing an impressive .262/.318/.525 with seven homers, 17 RBI, 17 runs scored, and one stolen base across 132 plate appearances.

Kelly (illness) is starting behind home plate and batting fifth against the Rockies on Wednesday.

Kelly is back in the lineup after being omitted from Tuesday's starting nine due to an illness, though he did pinch hit for Reese McGuire in the ninth inning. Kelly has slashed .241/.328/.389 with 11 runs, two home runs and three RBI in 61 plate appearances since the beginning of May.

The Pirates placed Bart on the 7-day injured list Wednesday due to a concussion.

The 28-year-old was struck in the head by a backswing Tuesday and will be unavailable for at least the next week while in the concussion protocol. The Pirates reinstated Endy Rodriguez (finger) from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move, and he should split catching duties with Henry Davis while Bart is sidelined.
