Diaz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Atlanta.

Diaz will get a routine breather after going 3-for-8 with two runs while catching both of the past two games for the Rockies. No. 2 backstop Dom Nunez will get a turn behind the plate in Diaz's stead Wednesday.

Raleigh went 2-for-4 with a double in a loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday.

The reserve backstop has a miserable .178/.222/.288 slash line for the season, but he's at least had a reason to smile over his last two starts. Raleigh is 4-for-8 in that pair of opportunities with the starting nine, which have come within a four-day period. Raleigh has encouragingly gotten good wood on the ball in that brief sample as well, as three of his four hits have been two-baggers.

Vazquez isn't starting Wednesday's game against Seattle, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

Vazquez will be out of the lineup for a second straight game, but he should be available off the bench after he appeared as a pinch hitter in Tuesday's win. Kevin Plawecki will start at catcher and bat eighth.

Ruiz isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Marlins, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Ruiz was back in the lineup in each of the last two games, and he went 3-for-7 with a run. Riley Adams will start behind the dish and bat eighth.

Perez went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run, an additional RBI and an additional run scored in Tuesday's win over the Athletics.

Perez had gone four games without a homer -- a relative oddity considering his power surge over the last few weeks -- but he blasted his 43rd long ball of the campaign in the bottom of the sixth, putting the Royals up by one run and giving the team a lead they'd never relinquish. The star catcher has hit .269 with five homers and 15 RBI through 52 at-bats this month.

Jeffers went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and four RBI during a 6-3 win over Cleveland in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

After getting the Twins on the board with a two-run double in the fourth inning, Jeffers capped the scoring on the night with a two-run blast to center field off Trevor Stephan. It was the 24-year-old catcher's first multi-hit performance since Aug. 4, while the multi-RBI effort was his first since July 31. Jeffers has supplied some power this season with 13 homers and 34 RBI through 76 games, but his .202/.275/.408 slash line limits his usefulness to deep fantasy formats.

Haase is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

With a quick turnaround for the series finale, Haase will be getting a breather after he caught 11 innings in Tuesday's 1-0 win. Dustin Garneau checks in behind the dish in place of Haase, batting eighth.

Smith went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in an 8-4 win against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Batting in the six hole, Smith took Diamondbacks reliever Jake Faria deep to left-center in the sixth inning and tacked on a sacrifice fly in the seventh. The solid outing continues a strong September for the young backstop, who's slashing .320/.417/.536 in nine games this month.

Vazquez is taking a seat Tuesday against the Mariners.

The 31-year-old will get the night off after starting Monday. He has recorded at least one hit in each of his last six starts. Kevin Plawecki takes over behind the plate and is batting seventh.

Murphy is not starting Tuesday against the Red Sox.

He'll take a seat after going hitless in his last six at-bats. Cal Raleigh is set to catch for Tyler Anderson and bat ninth.
