Trevino (back) could be activated Wednesday, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Trevino has ramped up his activity since last Friday, when he caught in the bullpen and hit in the batting cage. He caught a simulated inning Monday and was one of the batters Nick Lodolo (finger) faced in a sim game Tuesday.

Rutschman (ankle) went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Royals.

Rutschman made his presence felt in his return from the 10-day injured list, launching homer No. 1 on the season. The switch-hitting catcher is off to an impressive start at the dish following a disappointing 2025, when he posted a career-worst .673 OPS across 90 games. Over 43 plate appearances so far in 2026, Rutschman is slashing .316/.395/.553 with seven extra-base hits, five RBI, five walks and four runs scored.

Quero is not in the White Sox's lineup versus the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Quero went 2-for-9 with two RBI in the three-game series versus the Athletics over the weekend but failed the reach base Saturday and Sunday. As he rests Tuesday, Reese McGuire gets the start behind the dish, batting ninth.

Smith isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

After going 4-for-15 with three RBI and two runs scored in Los Angelels' last series against Colorado, Smith will retreat to the bench to begin Tuesday's series opener in San Francisco. Dalton Rushing will replace him behind the plate and bat sixth.

Heineman isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.

Heineman has been struggling at the plate as of late, going just 1-for-12 with an RBI and a run over his last five games. He'll get a breather Tuesday; meanwhile, Brandon Valenzuela will start at catcher and bat ninth.

The Giants selected Haase's contract from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Haase's selection comes as a corresponding move to Daniel Susac (elbow) being placed on the 10-day injured list along with Jose Butto (arm) being transferred to the 60-day injured list. Haase has slashed .250/.300/.472 across 40 plate appearances in nine games for Sacramento to begin 2026. He'll serve as the backup catcher to Patrick Bailey with Susac down.

The Giants placed Susac on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with right elbow neuritis, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Susac is expected to miss 2-to-3 weeks, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Susac has gone 11-for-23 at the plate in the big leagues this season and seemed to be on his way toward splitting reps behind the plate with Patrick Bailey, but the former will now have to wait at least 10 days before he gets another opportunity to start. Eric Haase will come up from Triple-A Sacramento to give the Giants depth at catcher.

Realmuto (back) will start at catcher and bat sixth in Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Realmuto missed each of the previous two contests with back soreness, but he's feeling well enough to give it a go in the second game of a four-game set. The veteran catcher enters play Tuesday with a .280/.368/.380 batting line in 57 plate appearances this season.

Wong is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

It's the third straight game on the bench for Wong after he started the previous three contests. The 29-year-old's .885 OPS in 27 plate appearances this year is far superior to Carlos Narvaez's .542 mark, though Narvaez now appears to have the upper hand for playing time again after a strong couple games at the plate.

Narvaez is starting behind the plate and batting ninth Tuesday against the Yankees, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

After recently finding himself on the bench for three straight contests, Narvaez returned to the starting nine the past two days and went 3-for-6 with a walk, two doubles and a stolen base to earn a third consecutive start Tuesday. Connor Wong has still been much better offensively with an .885 OPS in 27 plate appearances, but it appears Narvaez has reasserted his position for the starting job.
