Huff (knee) hit a home run that measured 511 feet and was struck at 115 mph for the ACL Rangers on Friday, Nick Trujillo of MLB.com reports.

Huff, who is at the Arizona Complex League, launched the homer during the fourth game of a rehab assignment. The long ball has been Huff's calling card -- he hit 28 homers over two minor-league stops in 2019, then muscled out three over 10 games for the Rangers in 2020. It's uncertain how long his stay in the ACL will be -- he's appeared in five games thus far -- or what the organization plans for his next step. Prior to Huff's MLB introduction in 2020, the highest level he reached was High-A for a 97-game stint.

Gomes is out of the lineup Sunday against the Dodgers after getting hit by a pitch on the right forearm Saturday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

The 33-year-old never exited Saturday's contest but is dealing with some swelling Sunday morning, so he'll receive the day off given the quick turnaround. It doesn't appear to be a serious issue, so Gomes should be considered day-to-day. Tres Barrera will start at catcher in his place.

Narvaez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Pirates.

Narvaez went 5-for-6 with an RBI and three runs scored during Saturday's contest, and he'll receive the day off Sunday after starting the past four games. Manny Pina will work behind the plate for the Brewers in the series finale.

Haase went 3-for-4 with two three-run home runs in Saturday's win over the White Sox.

Haase started in left field and made his presence felt with two three-run jacks -- an inside-the-parker in the fourth inning off Dallas Keuchel and another one in the seventh off reliever Jace Fry. Haase has now homered in back-to-back games for the second time this season and is hitting .412 with three long balls and seven RBI over his last five games.

Grandal (calf) remains out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The 32-year-old's encouraging comments Saturday suggested that he'd be back in the lineup Sunday, but the team is likely resting its star catcher, who exited Friday's game with calf tightness, as a continued precaution. Zack Collins is catching Sunday, and will continue to start behind the plate until Grandal is ready to return.

McGuire is not starting Sunday's series finale against the Rays.

Even after going 0-for-3 with a strikeout Saturday, McGuire is still hitting .400 in his last 15 games. Danny Jansen returned from the injured list Saturday and is starting at catcher Sunday, but manager Charlie Montoyo has stated that McGuire and his hot bat will remain the primary backstop for now.

Smith is on the bench for Sunday's game against the Nationals, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Saturday night's rain delay led to a long night behind the plate for Smith, so it's understandable that he sits out Sunday's morning game. Smith has struggled a bit offensively of late, hitting .220 in his last 15 games. Austin Barnes will catch and bat eighth Sunday.

Gomes went 1-for-2 with a walk and a three-run home run in Saturday's loss to the Dodgers.

The catcher was responsible for all three of Washington's runs in the contest, slugging a three-run homer off Clayton Kershaw in the fourth inning. The long ball was his eighth of the season and pushed his RBI total to 30. Gomes has been heating up of late, batting .364 (8-for-22) with three doubles and four RBI over his past seven games.
