Tucker Barnhart C | TEX
Reds' Tucker Barnhart: Crosses plate three times in rout
Barnhart went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and three runs scored in Monday's 11-1 win over the Phillies.
The veteran catcher continues to put together a career-best year at the plate. Through 41 games, Barnhart has an .814 OPS and is hitting .282 with three homers, 17 RBI and 23 runs.

Tomas Nido C | DET
Mets' Tomas Nido: Set to lose playing time
Nido is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.
With James McCann logging more reps at first base of late, Nido has enjoyed a near-everyday role behind the plate. However, catching in eight of the last 11 games, Nido's run of steady playing time looks to be over after Pete Alonso (hand) was reinstated from the injured list. With Alonso taking over as the Mets' primary first baseman, McCann will begin logging more time behind the dish.

Joey Bart C | CHW
Giants' Joey Bart: Moves past groin injury
Bart (groin) returned to the lineup at Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, going 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.
Bart was sidelined for just over a week with a sore groin, but he appears to have made a full recovery from the issue. The 24-year-old is expected to spent most of the season at Sacramento, but he'll likely be the next man up for No. 1 catching duties at the big-league level should Buster Posey miss time at any point.

Andrew Knizner C | BOS
Cardinals' Andrew Knizner: Productive in rare start
Knizner went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
The reserve backstop drew only his second start in the last 15 games and was one of the few bright spots for the Cardinals. Knizner has now reached safely in four of the eight plate appearances he's logged during his last two starts, but his opportunities are expected to continue to be sporadic as long as Yadier Molina is healthy.

Austin Hedges C | CLE
Indians' Austin Hedges: Takes seat in matinee
Hedges isn't in the lineup for Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader against the White Sox.
Hedges has gone 0-for-7 with a walk and three strikeouts in his last three games. Rene Rivera will start at catcher and bat eighth.

Yasmani Grandal C | PIT
White Sox's Yasmani Grandal: Sitting Game 1
Grandal is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader against Cleveland.
The veteran backstop was almost certain to get one of Monday's two games off, so he will rest up during the first half of the twin bill. Zack Collins will catch Carlos Rodon in Game 1, with Grandal likely to be behind the dish for Jimmy Lambert's first major-league start in Game 2.

Austin Wynns C | TEX
Orioles' Austin Wynns: Contract selected by Orioles
Wynns' contract was selected by the Orioles on Monday.
Wynns was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk in December but will now be available to make his first appearance in the majors since 2019. The 30-year-old has appeared in 15 minor-league games to begin the year and has slashed .333/.448/.563 with three home runs and nine RBI. He should serve as the backup to Pedro Severino after Chance Sisco was sent down as part of a corresponding move.
-
Gary Sanchez C | MIL
Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Sitting series opener
Sanchez is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game against Tampa Bay.
Sanchez will sit for the second time in four games. Kyle Higashioka will start behind the plate and bat eighth in the series opener.

Francisco Mejia C | TB
Rays' Francisco Mejia: Out of lineup once again
Mejia is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Mike Zunino appears to be manager Kevin Cash's preferred option behind the dish, at least for the time being. Monday will mark the fourth time in the last five games that Mejia is not in the starting nine.
