Despite a recent cold stretch, Realmuto is slashing an impressive .321/424/.536 overall this season.

    Contreras went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, one walk and two strikeouts in Friday's 15-2 win over the Brewers.

    Contreras struck out in his first two at-bats Friday, but his three-run blast in the sixth inning gave the team a 15-2 lead over Milwaukee. The 28-year-old has now reached base safely in each of his last 15 games, and he's slashing .267/.384/.583 with six home runs and 13 RBI this season.

    The 23-year-old landed on the injured list with a hamstring injury to open the season, though he was also apparently battling a knee issue. It's expected to be about eight weeks before Huff will be cleared to hit in games, but his ability to handle a heavy workload behind the plate this season is currently up in the air.

  • Reds' Tucker Barnhart: Not starting Friday

    Barnhart is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Cardinals.

    Tyler Stephenson will catch Sonny Gray in his absence. The pair have had a fairly standard split behind the plate this season, with Barnhart starting 12 games compared to seven for Stephenson.
