Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Fine after taking foul tip to neck
Sanchez was sore but doing okay after being hit in the neck with a foul ball Sunday against Boston, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.

Curt Casali C | ATL
Reds' Curt Casali: Hits sixth homer
Casali went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 6-3 win over Milwaukee.
Casali extended Cincinnati's lead to 3-1 with his long ball off Drew Rasmussen in the eighth. The backstop has hit .224/.373/.522 to go along with six homers and eight RBI while backing up Tucker Barnhart this season.

Alejandro Kirk C | TOR
Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Belts first big-league homer
Kirk went 4-for-4 with a solo home run, double and three runs scored in Monday's 11-5 win over the Yankees.
After going 2-for-10 to start his major-league career, the backstop broke out in a big way Monday. He singled and scored in the third, doubled and scored in the fourth and capped his night off with his first big-league long ball in the seventh. Kirk has shared time with Danny Jansen at catcher since being promoted Sept. 11, but could be in line for a larger portion of the at-bats if he can build off Monday's performance.

Max Stassi C | SF
Angels' Max Stassi: Knocks in two
Stassi went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Monday's 8-5 victory over the Rangers.
Stassi picked up an RBI after grounding into a double play in the second inning, and he plated a run in the fourth on a single to left field. The backstop is putting together a solid season by his standards, slashing .256/.344/.462 with five homers and 17 RBI through 27 contests. He finished with a .136/.211/.167 line through 51 games a season ago.

Chadwick Tromp C | BAL
Giants' Chadwick Tromp: Scratched with possible injury
Tromp was scratched from Monday's lineup against the Rockies due to a suspected shoulder injury, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
According to Guardado, Tromp appeared to jam his shoulder sliding back into first base during Sunday's game in Oakland. He'll be considered day-to-day until more information is released. Joey Bart will check in behind the plate Monday in Tromp's stead.

Danny Jansen C | TEX
Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Not in lineup
Jansen is not starting Monday against the Yankees.
Jansen hasn't seen his playing time dip by much even with the promotion of Alejandro Kirk, who starts Monday. He'd started five of the last six games heading into Monday's contest. It wouldn't be a surprise if he sat more frequently in the final week, as he's followed his disappointing .639 OPS from last season with a .589 mark this year.

Victor Caratini C | MIN
Cubs' Victor Caratini: Starting again Monday
Caratini will serve as the designated hitter and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Pirates.
Caratini caught Yu Darvish on Sunday and will now make his second straight start after spending the previous three games on the bench. The 27-year-old has been slumping lately with a .494 OPS across his last 10 games, though the Cubs have several regulars who are struggling at the plate, so Caratini could earn more playing time if he gets hot.

Joey Bart C | CHW
Giants' Joey Bart: Riding bench Monday
Bart isn't in Monday's lineup against the Rockies.
Bart will remain on the bench for a second straight game with Johnny Cueto starting Monday's series opener against the Rockies. Chadwick Tromp will take over as the catcher in his absence.
