Jansen will start at catcher and hit ninth Sunday against the Indians, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

With just three hits in his first 25 at-bats of the season, Jansen could find himself at the bottom of the lineup on a regular basis moving forward. On a positive note, Jansen has struck out in only 18.5 percent of his plate appearances, so he should be in line for a nice correction in batting average once his .150 BABIP normalizes.

The Braves officially recalled Jackson from Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.

Jackson will get his first big-league promotion after the Braves' top two catchers -- Brian McCann (hamstring) and Tyler Flowers (hand) -- both exited Saturday's game against the Marlins with injuries. McCann was subsequently placed on the 10-day injured list, while Flowers is listed as day-to-day after avoiding any structural damage to his hand when he was struck by a 98-mile-per-hour fastball. Flowers is still presumably dealing with some soreness, however, so Jackson will receive his first major-league start Sunday against the Marlins, according to 680 The Fan Atlanta.

The Mets optioned Nido to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.

New York didn't have a need to keep Nido around with Travis d'Arnaud (elbow) returning from the 10-day injured list and ready to step in as the backup to No. 1 catcher Wilson Ramos. Nido made two appearances during his brief stint with the big club to begin the season and went 0-for-6 at the plate.

The Mets activated d'Arnaud (elbow) from the 10-day injured list Sunday.

D'Arnaud has finally reached the finish line in his recovery from Tommy John surgery, which cost him all but four games of the 2018 season. Though he's typically served as the Mets' No. 1 catcher when healthy for parts of the past six seasons, d'Arnaud is now the clear backup following the team's signing of Wilson Ramos this winter. Expect d'Arnaud to only make a couple starts per week now that he's back on the active roster.

Caratini went 3-for-3 with two walks, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Saturday's 14-8 win over the Brewers.

The Cubs' No. 2 catcher hasn't seen a lot of work so far, but he's taken full advantage of his opportunities, slashing .600/.692/1.000 through four games with Saturday's homer being his first of the year. Should Willson Contreras slump again or get hurt, Caratini's fantasy stock could skyrocket.

Jackson will be called up from Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday, 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.

Brian McCann (hamstring) will be placed on the injured list Sunday and Tyler Flowers (hand) was hit by a pitch Saturday as Atlanta's catching depth took a major blow. Jackson could see plenty of action over the next few days if Flowers misses any time.

Wynns is making progress with his oblique injury but remains two weeks away from getting into game action, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

The two-week timeframe appears to relate to when Wynns can play at any level, so he'll likely need a rehab assignment before joining the big-league roster. Jesus Sucre and Pedro Severino will remain the Orioles' catchers for the time being.

Contreras is not starting Saturday against the Brewers.

Contreras has been a rare bright spot in a disappointing Cubs season thus far, hitting .389 with two homers in six games. Victor Caratini takes his spot behind the plate.

Narvaez will hit the bench Saturday against the White Sox, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Narvaez remains the clear starting catcher in Seattle, starting seven of the team's first 10 games. Tom Murphy gets the call in his absence.

Realmuto is not starting Saturday against the Twins.

The catcher will be the first Phillies regular to take a seat this season. He's gone just 4-for-21 at the plate, but it's still far too early to have any significant concerns. Andrew Knapp will make his first start of the year in his place.
