Masataka Yoshida LF | BOS
Red Sox's Masataka Yoshida: Taking seat versus lefty
Yoshida isn't in Boston's lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
With left-hander Nestor Cortes set to start on the hill for New York, the lefty-hitting Yoshida will step out of the lineup to begin Boston's four-game series with the Pinstripes. Tyler O'Neill will fill in as the Red Sox's designated hitter and bat fourth.

Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR
Orioles' Eloy Jimenez: Not playing regularly vs. RHPs
Jimenez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
Ryan Mountcastle's (wrist) move to the injured list in late August looked as though it might open up everyday playing time at designated hitter for Jimenez, but the Orioles have instead chosen to rotate a number of players at the DH spot. Jimenez still appears to be the Orioles' preferred DH versus left-handed pitching, but he finds himself on the bench for the fourth time in Baltimore's last five matchups with righties.

Jair Camargo C | ATL
Twins' Jair Camargo: Sent back to minors
The Twins optioned Camargo to Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
He was with the big club for a couple days while Christian Vazquez was on paternity leave but is no longer needed with Vazquez back in the fold. Camargo didn't see any action during his brief stint with the Twins.

Justin Foscue 1B | TEX
Rangers' Justin Foscue: Sitting in third straight game
Foscue is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Foscue had an opportunity to pick up regular at-bats after Corey Seager (hip) was placed on the injured list last week, but the Rangers have seemingly pulled the plug on the rookie. He'll hit the bench for the third game in a row while Ezequiel Duran has emerged as the preferred option for the lineup spot vacated by Seager.

Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Posts steal Tuesday
Alvarez went 2-for-6 with a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-innings loss to the Athletics.
Alvarez has multiple hits in three of the last four games, though he's also gone hitless three times over eight contests in September. The slugger's steal was his seventh of the year after he had never stolen more than one base in a single season. He's added a stellar .312/.396/.570 slash line with 32 home runs, 80 RBI, 80 runs scored and 31 doubles through 135 contests.

David Fry C | CLE
Guardians' David Fry: Lifts homer Monday
Fry went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 5-3 win over the White Sox.
Fry has slipped into a part-time role in September, going 2-for-10 over four games this month. He made an impact with an increasingly rare start, giving the Guardians a 3-0 lead with a third-inning homer Monday. While it's been a solid year for Fry overall -- he's at a .260/.358/.448 slash line through 372 plate appearances -- he hasn't been able to hang onto an everyday role for a division-leading club.

Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Heads to bench as Dominguez returns
Stanton is not in the lineup for Monday's game versus the Royals, Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Aaron Judge will occupy the designated-hitter spot Monday while Jasson Dominguez picks up a start in the outfield after being called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Stanton is in the midst of a 1-for-19 slide at the plate and could see his playing time dip upon Dominguez's arrival, though manager Aaron Boone told Laura Albanese of Newsday that Stanton will serve as the Yankees' DH more often that not. With that in mind, Alex Verdugo -- who will start in left field Monday -- could find himself as the odd man out of the lineup more frequently than Stanton.

Masataka Yoshida LF | BOS
Red Sox's Masataka Yoshida: Taking seat against lefty
Yoshida is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.
The left-handed-hitting Yoshida has mostly been an everyday player this season when healthy, but he'll hit the bench for a second straight matchup with a lefty (Cade Povich). Tyler O'Neill will get a start at designated hitter for Boston.
