  • Trevor Larnach LF | MIN

Twins' Trevor Larnach: Cracks fourth homer

Larnach went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Monday's win over the Royals.

This marked Larnach's second straight start hitting leadoff, casting Edouard Julien into the eighth spot. The 27-year-old outfielder extended the Twins lead to five with a monstrous 441-foot, three-run homer off Royals starter Alec Marsh in the fifth inning. Overall, Larnach is slashing .270/.333/.427 in 99 plate appearances this season.

  • Justin Turner 1B | CHC

Blue Jays' Justin Turner: Out of lineup again Monday

Turner is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.

Turner has now been absent from the lineup for two straight games and three times over his club's last five contests. He did enter the game twice over that stretch as a pinch hitter and will be an option to do so again Monday when/if the White Sox put a left-handed reliever in. Daniel Vogelbach will start at designated hitter Monday.

  • Wyatt Langford OF | TEX

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Could be activated Tuesday

Langford (hamstring) will bat leadoff and start in left field for Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday in what could be his final rehab appearance before he returns from the 10-day injured list, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

The Rangers could use a spark in the lineup, and with Langford playing the field in back-to-back games, it would seem his hamstring is responding well. Texas is off Monday, so Langford's status may not be known until Tuesday's series opener versus the Diamondbacks.

  • Willie Calhoun DH | LAA

    Angels' Willie Calhoun: Resting Sunday

Calhoun is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Guardians.

Despite Cleveland sending out right-hander Ben Lively, the lefty-hitting Calhoun will begin Sunday's game in the dugout. Since being promoted to the majors May 1, Calhoun is slashing .280/.294/.427 with nine doubles, one home run and five RBI over 85 plate appearances, though he's gone 0-for-12 across his last three starts. Kevin Pillar will serve as the designated hitter Sunday and bat in the cleanup spot.

  • Ryan O'Hearn 1B | PIT

Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Resting against lefty

O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

The lefty-hitting O'Hearn will check out of the lineup with the White Sox bringing southpaw Garrett Crochet to the hill for the series finale. Adley Rutschman will get a day off from catching duties and will serve as Baltimore's designated hitter in place of O'Hearn.

  • Kyle Manzardo 1B | CLE

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Idle versus lefty

Manzardo is out of the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Angels.

The lefty-hitting Manzardo will take a seat Sunday due to the Angels sending southpaw Reid Detmers to the mound. Manzardo started in the first two games of the series, and his six-game hitting streak was snapped in Saturday's 4-3 win. Jose Ramirez will serve as the designated hitter Sunday, while Gabriel Arias draws the start at third base.

  • Rays' Jonathan Aranda: Resting Sunday

Aranda is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Aranda has gotten off to a decent start to his season since being reinstated from the 10-day injured list May 14, as he's slashed .242/.324/.394 with three extra-base hits, six runs and two RBI while appearing in 11 games (nine starts). He's seen some time at first base and second base, but Aranda will likely make most of his starts as a designated hitter moving forward. He'll get a breather Sunday, however, opening up the DH spot for Harold Ramirez.

  • Justin Turner 1B | CHC

Blue Jays' Justin Turner: Out of Sunday's lineup

Turner is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.

Turner's offensive production has fallen sharply in May with a .105/.164/.123 slash line through 16 games, and he'll sit Sunday for the second time in Toronto's past four contests. Daniel Vogelbach will bat fifth as the designated hitter in the series finale at Detroit.

  • Wyatt Langford OF | TEX

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Rehab moves to field

Langford (hamstring) started in left field and went 1-for-3 with a run scored for Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.

Langford, who began his rehab assignment Friday as the DH, moved to the field Saturday and played five innings. The Rangers, who have lost six straight and 12 of the last 14, could fast-track Langford's return to Tuesday, when Texas opens a two-game set against Arizona. A sign of that would be Langford starting in the outfield for a second straight day, when Round Rock finishes its series against Sugar Land on Sunday.

  • Ryan O'Hearn 1B | PIT

Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Kicks off rally with homer

O'Hearn went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 5-3 win over the White Sox.

With the O's down 3-0 in the eighth inning, O'Hearn got the comeback started with an epic at-bat against Jordan Leasure that saw the slugger foul off five straight pitches before launching a slider over the right-field fence. OHearn remains in a strong-side platoon role -- he's gotten only eight plate appearances against LHP so far in 2024 -- but he does his job well, slashing .294/.364/.521 against lefties this season with seven homers and 18 RBI in 132 PAs.
